Cimaja Square has accommodation - didn't stay, just ate at the restaurant. Positives: good food, reasonably priced, friendly staff, pet/dog friendly, bug spray available at the table, wifi, good location for Surfing. Negatives: limited parking (but this wasn't an issue). Would recommend the pizza!

Pusat Ikan Bakar Resto

Reviewed By Stickman1 - Canberra, Australia

Our family of four had one of our best-ever seafood meals here. On the ground floor next to the fishing boat harbour you choose the fish you want from plastic trays holding the day's catch. The staff there know all about fish, and can advise you on the different styles of cooking for each fish. The building does not look impressive from the street, but it is clean. The staff speak little English, but they know the English names of the fish.
Then you go upstairs and wait for the fish to be cooked the way you ordered. We had Ikan krapu (groper, 700 grams for Rp 40,000), salem (salmon, 700g for Rp 30,000), kakap (red barramundi, 500g for Rp 30,000), udang (prawns, 500g for Rp 40,000), and 500g of lobster for Rp 70,000. We paid Rp 80,000 for the cooking, and another Rp 15,000 for a cap cay (vegetables) preparation of one of the dishes. We had four glasses of iced lemon for Rp 10,000 each, and paid Rp 5,000 each for rice.
We absolutely loved this meal and would have gone there again if we were staying in town longer. It could not have been any fresher, and at Rp 375,000 ( about $34) for four of us it was fantastic value, and much better than we had at much fancier ( and more expensive) restaurants in Jakarta.
We did not give a five star rating because the building is very plain and without air conditioning, but this is a small price to pay for such a memorable meal.
Look for a table by the windows with a view of the fishing boat harbour.

The meal is delicious. We ordered fresh fish, eggs, vegetables, and some meat. For 10 people, it only cost 400.000 rupiah (around 40 dollars). The restaurant is right next to the beach, while waiting you could walk on the beach, enjoying the fresh sea wind.

Cimaja Beach Club

Reviewed By Anna-Katri K - Jakarta, Indonesia

Two friends and I spent three nights in Cimaja Beach Club. We all were stunned. The place is absolutely gorgeous.
The bungalow was clean and comfortable with AC and very clean bathroom. The sundeck on the top provided beautiful views over the rice fields and gave us an opportunity to marvel at the sunset. The beach is very close, and you can feel and hear the ocean at all times. Just perfect.
Every meal that Chef Jim prepared was extremely good (some of the best food I have had in Indonesia). The host Jez has to be one of the most caring hosts ever; he organized our transportation to Cimaja and our surf lessons on the spot, and took care of all our needs. You simply cannot ask for a better experience. This has to be it. :)
