Reviewed By niamhg898Makofi guest house is definitely a fabulous place to stay. The food, the staff and the rooms were just amazing. They had some of the best food we had on the Island and the staff are super helpful and so lovely. We had such a good time and we didn’t want to leave. Makofi guest house is at such a good location with only a moments walk to the beach. The vibe that it has is next to none and I would not hesitate to stay here the next time I visit Nungwi beach.

Highland Bungalows is located at the northern tip of Zanzibar close to the village called Nungwi. It's just 7 min walk from the nicest beach of Zanzibar. Highland Bungalows is a low budget guest house ideal for backpackers. All our rooms are basic/standard with bathrooms, hot water facilities,fans, mosquito nets and are surrounded by a nice garden. Our restaurant is serving local and international food at low prices. In the space full open-air-bar people can enjoy local or international drinks and meet Tanzanians.The bar contains also a pool table and flat screens to enjoy international football matches.
Oke but they can work on the cleanliness
Reviewed By rguink685203The place was in a oke location en the pick up driver was very welcoming. They have to work on the cleanliness and the breakfast. You could only choose a few things and not a lot at stock. The WiFi was not good in the rooms but at the restaurant was it fine.

Fantastic, homely hotel
Reviewed By vasug518I have never met so friendly staff as in Nungwi House. The owner was very talkative and helped us with whatever we might need. Moreover, the hotel was extremely clean and the hotel owners completely adapt to your needs and timing. It was definitely the most pleasant stay during my trip to Zanzibar. Next time I'm in Zanzibar, I will surely stay at Nungwi House for the entirety of my trip.

Dream simple vacation
Reviewed By grvforceVery clean room, clean bedsheets, comfortable bed, super friendly staff, very very excellent location ( 10m walk to the best white sand beach, they have an excellent restaurant with the best pizza and seafood, also lots of restaurants and activities near by, you just wake up from your bed and straight for a quick morning dip in the ocean. The price is very reasonable. Highly recommend and definitely stay again.

Excellent location
Reviewed By mir-slava05We stayed at Wakanda for 4 nights only. We arrived earlier then check in time, but we were able to change and dropped our baggage. Mr. Calcuk, who has owned this place, made very warm welcome for us. Every morning we had an amazing, fresh breakfast. Thanks girls for it and your different creation every morning. Furthermore, our room was cleaned every day as well as our bed was made up. Additionally you can have wifi and water there. Room where we stayed, not so big but good enough for 2, with AC especially if you planed be out most of the day. Mr. Calcuk is very helpful, friendly, giving advises regarding tours, prices and places what is worth to visit. Even when we checked out and moved to another hotel, still I was able to contact him for some assistance. Wakanda Hotel has great location, just 2 min away from beach, market, restaurants, tour offices. Safe and good value for money. Thankfull to all Wakanda's team, great work.

Relaxing and very "chilled"
Reviewed By GeofferinoThe Kajibange was just what I needed. You have your basic amenities in the room - toilet, shower, AC, fridge , fan and a bed so huge, it could easily sleep 5. The setting is the best, right on the beach but hidden amongst coconut trees and greenery. There is still some building required with some of the rooms, this did not bother me at all, but some people might find this "untidy". There was no noise with this, just some areas were untidy with building materials about. The owner and staff where superb and very chilled with no request being a problem. If you want chilled, relaxed and very eco, this is your place. If you want 5* luxury, then maybe look elsewhere. One thing to add is that as a Muslim country, there are "Prayers" at 04:00 and the mosque is very close. The call to prayer only last 5 mins or so, but can be annoying if you are a light sleeper.
