We enjoyed 2 meals in L'Albatros (I had spare ribs and then mussels) both times very good and indeed for a very reasonable price. Service is efficient and friendly. Can sit inside and outside (weather permitting).

When I come back in Narbonne my home town, this is THE restaurant where i always go. The location is just perfect: in the middle of La Clape, surrounded by pine trees, vineyards and the noise of the crickets. The foos is outstanding and the service is good. The wine is very nice.
The best is to have a table outside on the Terrace. Excellent! Especially with a good price.

La Voile Rouge

There's no turning back when it comes to Beaches in this part of the Languedoc. My daughter and granddaughter were happy with the public Beaches -- especially Narbonne Plage -- but once they got a taste of the "good life" at La Voile Rouge, they'll insist on going here from now on. La Voile Rouge offers lounge chairs from 10 Euros to 30 Euros depending on size and how fancy a lounge you want. The red ones like we had are 10 Euros and pretty nice.
The restaurant and bar are operated by Gilles Belzons, the retired and well-known Narbonne rugby team player and owner of Chez Bebelle in Les Halles, Narbonne. Lunch was rather pricey -- 13 Euros each for two Caesar Salads and 12 Euros for an open-face club sandwich; 38 Euros, ouch! We had dinner there in summer 2011 and thought it was very good and fairly priced.
There are events at La Voile Rouge during the summer so it's worthwhile to check the website. Evenings are lively.
I have photos but TripAdvisor isn't working properly to upload them.

Cote Sud is serving food all afternoon now, so as St Pierre was busy on a hot July day, we ate late.
The welcome is always good and the service is efficient, particularly considering the number of covers they have. There is a three course menu at about 14€ which is very good value for money, or a big selection of a la carte dishes.
Their Picpoul de Pinet is good and we like the salads, very fresh and a nice assortment of leaves, attractively presented. And the grilled oysters are tasty. The ice creams look pretty and copious.
We'll be back.

Le Palmarium deserves its high ranking amongst restaurants in St Pierre la Mer. Of the ones along the sea front, it's definitely the best by some margin. This is a Catalan chef who understands flavours and seasoning and likes to serve unusual vegetables.
We had a nice welcome from Laurence on a busy lunchtime. The decor inside has been redone and is cosy. Water arrived for our dog without us asking, and chilled water.
The fish of the day was huge and was for two people. The same went for the lobster, which was 36€ for two. The palourdes [clams] came in a delicious sauce with garlic, chilli and parsley. The fish soup was a good-sized portion and not too daunting and came with all the trimmings. Then we had the carrelet [plaice/flounder] with three different vegetables, crushed potato with cheese, beetroot and samphire; the flambeed prawns and the scallops, also served with a trio of vegetables. The Vermentino white wine from Gruissan went very well with it.
Dessert was a choice of ice cream from a very good manufacturer and a homemade clafouti with mango, passion fruit and vanilla.
We only marked them down this time because the first course came without bread and we had to ask for it.

Restaurant le Bacchus des Karantes

We ate here whilst on holiday- I say we ate- we had a starter of squid and a children's meal. We had also ordered duck and a seafood platter. We waited for an hour for our main courses and then began to question where they were. After several requests and a further half an hour, my husband cancelled them and asked for the bill. He then requested the bill again, at which point the manager arrived with our main courses. The duck was very dry and covered in a grey gloop and the platter literally look like it had been sat in the kitchen for 90 minutes. My husband told him that we didn't want them. He replied 'Just eat'. He then said 'Do you know how long it takes to prepare this platter?'. Fortunately we've had it many times before at other restaurants and so know it's nothing like an hour and a half. What followed can only be described as an argument with my husband repeatedly requesting a bill for what we had consumed. The manager refused so I ended up getting up with my 4 year old and leaving the restaurant. He then got the message and took the food away but my husband had to request the bill a further 3 times. The waitress used the word 'aggressive' to describe my husband. There were several words he could have used in response. In the end my husband just left money for what he thought we'd had. Beyond shocking.

Really enjoyed our first visit. Place was clean, service friendly but slightly slow (however they were really busy). Tuna good, but not rare as ordered. However, the food was fresh, tasty and more imaginative than nearby restaurants. Will definitely return.
