We heard about this new lodge while on holidays in Ilha de Mozambique ( about 2-3 hours from Nampula airport) and we decided to go for lunch to give it a try as it was newly established. After booking in advance we went there by boat ( 15 min from Ilha de Mozambique) and we loved the experience. The location is stunning, the service great and food was superb. The food was is pretty much Mozambiquean with an international twist, and his local chef showed not only a great pride of the national cuisine but also great skills and interest to try new things. It is not cheap and it takes a bit of an effort to go there as it is away from main tourist places, but it is worth a visit. Also the beach where it is located is absolutely gorgeous. The lodge seems very pretty also but we didn't stay overnight ( as beyond our budget). Overall I highly recommend a visit here!

The rating above is for food only. We ate here twice in a group of four and six so were able try quite a variety of their food and
by nampula standards food is very good. Best dish is the Portuguese Beef and only disappointment was Chicken Tikka.
Service was quite slow as is the norm in Nampula. However
Here we can clearly see that each of the dishes are cooked from scratch and would take long if they did it the old way, and
I guess they do do it the old way and also do not care that hungry OR angry customers are waiting!
On first visit I wanted to use wifi and asked the waiter he didn't
Understand or pretended not to understand then gestured "sorry, not available only back there pointing towards the hotel".
Anyway, after our meal I decided to pop into the hotel office/lobby to ask if I could use the wifi, and I think a white person who was probably the owner who was on a computer ordered his secretary to tell me that system was down. Ok next day we went and this time had lunch six persons my lady friend wanted a brochure of the hotel so she could look up the website again
Quite rudely refused at the office". And now I read the other reviews have had bad experiences with the owners "will". just can't help feeling sorry for the waiters and other people that work there who have to tolerate this everyday!! They sure didn't look happy or motivated!

An iron fist the old fashioned way and have loyal customers.
Not open to comment, discussion, requests or criticism.
And they serve good food, just not recommended if you're in a hurry. Be patient and tip well.

staff are unpleasant - actually its the the owners. They just don't make any effort to be friendly so the whole experience is spoiled. On an island where everybody is generally super friendly and helpful its kind of a shock. Food isn't so great either and price is high. maybe it will get better because its in a good spot by the quiet beach

I tried only the restaurant of this wonderful place. It has also some bungalows on the beach, I would have overnight there if I knew because they seemed really comfortable, and the place is a paradise!
Anyways, we tries the restaurant, AND the beach in front of the place. The beach is not private and it was quite busy with local people fishing and children playing. It was amazing! We were the only tourists!
The restaurant had a couple of other guests. The fish was fresh and amazingly good, we ordered it before going to the beach and when we came back lunch was prepared! The place is not expensive and service was good as well, punctual and nice. I had the impression there are not many other choices there, but this place was amazingly good anyways!

Most Important city centre shopping place of all your basic food needs.right from the bakery stuffs, frozen foods, coldrinks, dairy products including groceries. Localized at the main business area, main road and near banks with sufficient parking space even after working hours.

Wonderful pizza prepared by chef David, real italian home style preparation and fast cooking in the traditional oven.
You should order in advance, specially if your coming with a big group of friends, so he can have the ingredients prepared and you have a all pizza just yourself :)
People going to Ilha de Mozambique shouldn't miss this place!

I have eaten here four times now and still yet to have a nice meal, the last meal was beef burger and chips which I thought no one could mess up but I was wrong it was terrible. For a joke I measured the width of the burger which was 2 inch across given the bun was 4 inch across I was a bit let down when I looked inside.
O yeh also it took an hour to arrive and when it did it was cold.

Is a great pub to go alone or with friends, if you are staying in Nampula, this is the place to go, there is plenty of girls inside looking for single men.
The prices are honest, and the music playing is good, a great variety of songs and music.
Everything happens on the Terrace, so is an outside Seating, always busy with beautiful people.
They serve food as well, and the cocktails are well famous.

We always pick up shawarmas at this walk-up kiosk as we come into Nampula on business. The owner is an accountant by day and cooks by night! He is particular about hygiene, fresh ingredients, and good flavor (unlike the other stands around him).
