Beautiful scenery but could easily be improved

This family-operated resort is in the middle of the jungle therefore the surrounding scenery and nature is fantastic. Big plus for the location. We had our own little house near to the central lobby & restaurant. It was quiet when we were there, I think on the second day we were the only guests. The food was ok though you had to order in advance and not the entire menu was translated to English. The staff did not speak English, so we were lucky to have our Thai guide with us to translate. A couple of remarks: - The balcony with relaxing chairs and outdoor bath/shower is great, we really came to full relaxation there - the room is a bit dated and missing some basic things. A decent bath mat for the floor would be nice instead of those brown carpets that are probably not washed in between guests... also we just had 2 towels to shower, none for your hands or face. Also no soap to wash hands and instead of napkins/tissues we were simply provided with more toilet paper. These seem very cheap solutions that could be improved at low cost to give the hotel a bit more allure. - the sheets had old stains on them, so maybe consider to replace them at some point.. it makes the place feel dirty while it was ok clean - Our hot water did not work. We reported it in the morning and expected it to be fixed during the day, but in the evening it was still not done. We reported it again at dinner and nothing was done. After dinner we asked the third time, they finally came to check it, concluding after tugging the tap for 10 minutes that the water indeed was not getting warm. Mechanic could not be arranged at 8pm so we asked whether it was possible to shower in the adjacent cottage. We got the key for that and got ready for bed but all of a sudden there was a knock on the door and we were asked to pack our bags and move to the other room all together, which made no sense as we were about to check out early the next morning anyway and it made no sense for them to dirty two beds/rooms. This was a bit strange and embarrassing as we were already in sleep clothes when they came to us. luckily our guide convinced them that we stayed in our original room. - Apparently it’s normal in Thailand that they check your room while you wait at the desk to check out. We consider this a bit distrustful (maybe a cultural thing, I don’t know) but we are happy they did since we forgot something in the room that they brought to us ?
