I went here to visit a friend. She suggested it was a nice place. Service wasn't there 100%. Like most places you have to chase your waiter. Only 3 tables were taken, so not busy to say he had no time. I ordered a curry dish which had the slightest hint of curry. She ordered a salmon dish. Both plates came with very unusual taste combination. When we tried to explain to the waiter as why we don't think the plates were great, he showed us how boredom and plainly said, our chef makes infusion plates. That's why they taste strange.Two glasses of wine, two plates and no desert, total price $60. Wouldn't go back and wouldn't be surprised if they close soon. Dear Mike,Thank you for your comments. Had been recommended to Jaaks by (many) local Tico friends. The negative, getting a table is not easy ... the positive, the food is truly a find. London yes, San Francisco yes but a small shopping strip in Escazu, San Jose! Fresh fish sourced by Jaak from local fisherman on the Central Pacific three times a week and a a chef schooled in Nordic cuisine means a simple but superb culinary treat. Not surprised to learn Jaak was the Executive Chef at Nayara and Hotel Three Sixty, both here in Costa Rica.

Third visite to Vanity Lounge in Santa Ana. Obliging and friendly waitress, and good service. As previously, a superb Steak. This time a 14 oz Ribeye with salad, and Baked Potato and mushrooms to accompany. Steak was cooked to perfection, and very tender. My perfect medium und my wife's perfect blue. Not the cheapest of meals, but I am happy to pay for such a good steak. I think the exchange rate made a difference! No question I will go again next days during my time here in Costa Rica.Thank you so much for the kind words! After shopping yesterday at The Multiplaza,my husband and were really hungry.Wanted a nice sit down,not food court.Decided to try Tintos y Blancos again,and were very happy we did.I just had tapas,calamari and spicy potatoes.Both were good,not excellent.My husband ordered a seafood casserole,loaded with shrimp,mussels,clams and mushrooms,in a tomato based broth.It was so good.We had Chilean wine by the glass,very good prices on the wine.ALso like that they put a little card on the wine glass,so you can remember what it was when you go shopping for wine.(in my case that helps,everytime I order a different wine,I forget what it was when I go to the store to buy it)Service was o.k.,it was pretty busy last night.Will go back,and try some more tapas

This place was recommended by local friends.Good little "rustic" place offering reasonably priced local meals. We were atable if 7, all ordered something diffetent and all food was very good.They do amazing long island ice teas too!Worth a visit if you're in the area.

This is a very good place if you want to try some costa rican food in a very nice location. I also liked that they offer a lot of different natural drinks, which is great considering that a lot of places offer pulp only nowadays. I was surprised on how fast they served my breakfast as well. We quite literally walked into this restaurant thinking âdo we stay or leaveâ. Not convinced it was going to be good, boy were we wrong!! Miguel, greeted us right away, explaining the menu and specials, encouraged us to try different dishes, recommended wine and generally was just absolutely charming. The food was well seasoned, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented! What more could you ask for? We felt like we had definitely ended our trip to Costa Rica on a high note!!!
