We were lucky enough to find this great family restaurant on our first evening and return most evenings during our weeks stay in San Martino. It had a great choice of food, the pasta was gorgeous and the pizza delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming which is just as important as the great food. Our favourite waitress was Marcia:) Would highly recommend for couples, kids and large parties. We were up to 13 people some nights and they always welcomed us. I would book ahead at the weekend as it's is very, very busy with locals. Many thanks from the uk gang & Bellissimo Pete!

I visited this restaurant several times in the past and always admired the beauty of the location, the tasteful architecture and the solid food. Last night I returned with my friends and had a great culinary experience worthy of a review.I started with a velvety pasta e fagioli and ended with braised veal cheek. Both prepared and presented in a way that suggests the possibility of a Michelin star. My dinner companions were equally impressed with their choices.The service, which had been disorganised in past, is greatly improved, professional and friendly.Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Malga Fratazza. It was a great fun to go by snowmobile. We were then nicely surprised by the very small and welcoming place. The food and service were indeed good, with the the nice touch of the waitresses dressed with traditional clothes. And then to end the nice evening, after a very balanced bill, an amazing ride down the hill ....by sleights!!

One waitress for the whole restaurant is a challenge for the waitress and a hell for the naturally neglected customers at least at lunch time/rush hours. I am almost sure their mushroom ravioli contain either meat or ham - albeit their denial.

Tonight we had dinner at Rifugio Fuciade.To reach the restaurant cars must be parked when the road ends next to hotel Miralago, nearby Passo S. Pellegrino slopes. On arrival at the car park, the restaurant staff indicated us where to park. Then we set of in the woods with a snowcat and reached the restaurant in a few minutes. We had an OK dinner in the overcrowded basement of the âRifugioâ and eventually asked to be returned to the car park (chargeable service). This time instead of the snowcat we had an open air snowmobile. It is 10.30 pm, heavy snow, -5C. The ride was actually freezing but somewhat fun; at the end we were dropped off in the wood about 100m away from the car park. Once at the car park, there there was no longer any staff from Fuciade. Yet a number of other cars had parked and one of them was blocking us off: we were stuck in the snowstorm!It is freezing, we have a child with us, no staff to assist. I call the restaurant and they promise to look fast for the owner of the car. After about 20 minutes and a number of phone calls we are told that the owner is identified but all snowmobiles are in service thus we need to wait further until when the owner of the car that blocks us can be picked up. At this point I call the local police who then contacted the restaurant in turn. Finally things moved and after further 25 minutes finally someone arrived to move the vehicle. The driver explains that he it was the restaurant staff upon arrival to point him to the parking spot opposite our car and he assumed they would have then managed logistics with the other guests. In the meantime, the owner of Fuciade was declining all responsibility by phone, stating that it was all the driverâs (note - her customer!) fault. To cut a long story short: Fuciade is using a public car park that they staff when guests arrive to make sure they get up and dine. On the way back everybody disappears and you are left on your own. A totally irresponsible attitude considering that this is at high altitude in freezing weather conditions. Reality is that what probably used to be a local farmhouse has now outgrown to a busy touristy restaurant, bigger than the ability of the owners to properly manage it all.No courtesy, no apologies, just a lot of arrogance from someone who is just focussed on making money out of a special location. Does not matter though if after dinner you are left freezing with a young boy in the middle of a snowstorm.My reco: do not go! There are plenty of more genuine and better managed traditional restaurants in the area.

This rifugio is superbly situated, with a wonderful view. We sat on a sunlit terrace to enjoy a welcome beer after a long hike on a hot day. Unlike some rifugios, it was neither crowded nor touristy. We enjoyed a tranquil hour watching a local school-group tumble and play in the meadow, watched over by nuns - quite enchanting.If you only go to one rifugio in this area, make it this one.

The place is ok, warm and friendly. The menu sounds very good! The tagliatelle made by buckwheat with finferli mushrooms and smoked ricotta cheese is delicious! We only had a surprise in the gnocchi where we have found a hair! The lady when we showed it replied: "it happens" . In our opinion a better response would have been like : we are sorry! this is the first time! apologize ! may we offer you a coffee ? or something like this ..... sometimes it takes very little to improve an unpleasant situation.....
