Another super restaurant in the 'all inclusive' Rixos at RAK. Not being over hungry, we ordered a second course of starters rather than a main course. When they arrived the chef had obviously appreciated our tastes and enhanced the dishes with additional sauces and dressings. As we admired the presentation and enjoyed the tastes, we spotted a head peering out of the kitchen door - the chef making sure we were OK with his creations. We invited him over and thanked him and he returned to his kitchen with a great smile on his face. A lovely memory of another classy evening at The Rixos.

Emirates Sea Restaurant sets you into nostalgia. The seating is cabin style with closed half doors and the furniture is wooden. The menu is massive - combining Arabic, Indian and Chinese dishes, with really large portions. It's the best Kerala Parota I have had in the UAE. The King Prawn Biriyani is a must have - good enough for 2 people just standalone. The prawns are large and the rice is fragrant. Try the Prawn Masala with the Parota. Our captain Sachin Mhadgup and the manager Manohar Amin were extremely attentive and helpful. Cost for a couple AED 60.

This Greek Taverna style restaurant is nestled within the Al Hamra Residence but clearly sign-posted from Vienna Street. It offers very fresh fish that are out on display in ice but on our visit these promising ingredients suffered from some heavy-handedness in the kitchen that meant both our main courses (Red Snapper and Bream) were a bit over-cooked. Still tasty but a bit more care would have made a big difference and moved the score up a star.
