We tried this out one lunchtime on our recent holiday after reading some good reviews and we were not disappointed. The fish was nicely done and very tasty, as were the chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. Will definitely come back the next time we visit Yorkshire.

Beautiful takeaway that serves the nicest fish and chips i have ever eaten. Even my daughter who is very fussy loved the gorgeous golden fish. Staff are very friendly and had plenty of chat while you waited for your chips. I would highly recommend trying Moorside fisheries for good friendly staff and gorgeous no nonsense food. Chips were overcooked, mushy peas were dry, gravy was too thick and lumpy and the fish was tasteless! Got a take away and they were awful, I wouldn't even feed what was left to the dogs, what a waste of money. Was really busy which I appreciate but there was no need for it to all be overcooked, dry and tasteless.Hi there! I'm really sorry to hear about your experience with us. As you said we were quite busy over the weekend, but that does not mean that our standards should slip as our food is normally delicious! Called for fish and chips in the cafe after visiting the Thornton-le-Dale show. The fish chips mushy peas brown bread and pot of tea was very welcome. The girl waitress was nice as was the food. Love the spotless clean white crockery they use. The price was £8.95 each so good value for a sit down on comfortable seating. The cafe was clean and tidy with no dirty pots on tables, free wi fi and good toilet facilities. Recommend.
