May well be the best Fish and Chip restaurant in the North. Friendly. Fresh fish. Comfortable and clean.

Called here on our way back to caravan site in arnside. Asked the miserable waitress for the large fish & chips (fish & chips pease, bread & butter, tea.) 1 horrible slice of bread and cheap margarine. Then came the fish and chips the wife said we ordered large fish & chips (that is the large she replied) the wife said she wanted to get up and walk out and leave and reject them but I was starving.looking back I should have listened to her, they were disgusting. Fish was like 5" long if that, scrappy chips that were soggy, fish had a sour taste to it. god knows what the small portion would be like. Back home in good old Yorkshire weatherby whaler, same price fish are at least 1ft long nice crispy batter not soggy & slimy. Chips full sized and no scrappy chips 2 slices bread and real butter. ******** £21 for utter crap.******

We came here two consecutive nights to eat dinner as we thought it so good and also good value. As there were five of us each time we sampled quite a lot of the menu and there was nothing that disappointed and most of the food was delightful. Service to the table was by a variety of people on both occasions and all were extremely professional and attentive. The food was not instantly brought to the table - a good point in my eyes as it means things were only prepared when asked for and it gave us plenty of time for conversation. The Farmers Arms prides itself on the seafood and those who ate it had nothing but praise the quality and taste.Hi makesholidayThank you for the lovely review. First time visit for me. Traditional fish and chips, lovely and fresh, tasty fish. Very good value for money, included tea and bread and butter. Extremely busy, so obviously a popular place.
