Most Popular Restaurants in Steamboat Springs

A ski town that is also an authentic ranching center, Steamboat Springs is more down home than glitzy. Cowboy hats and ski boots are equally welcome on the city's friendly streets. The place where downhill skiing first flourished in the United States, Steamboat Springs remains a premiere slopes destination. But the town also offers outdoor recreation of every stripe and season. And after a long day hiking, schussing or shopping, you can relax in one of the natural hot springs for which the town was named.

There is a reason that Cafe Diva has been the number one restaurant in Steamboat for many years. Great food, superb service, and genial atmosphere. Our visit last night simply reinforced this. Tasty, tasty surf and turf, really good fish, and excellent appetizers. Oh, and a wonderful crab bisque.

Took a 2.4 mile (1-way) alk down to catch breakfast at the Creekside Cafe and thoroghly enjoyed every bite! The restaurant is small but cozy and quaint. We did not wait at all and found the service quick! The coffee was excellent ane one person had a bloody Mary which was describd as quite tasty amd well dine!

We had eggs benedict with applewood smoked bacon and avacado accompanied by fresh fruit (required a small “upgrade fee” ). We also tried an omelette with fresh grilled vegetables, ham, and cheese. Wheat toast with homemade strawberry jam was a bit extra but tasty and trulu enjoyed.

We would recommend this charming local breakfast gathering!

Winona's

Reviewed By CateyLeigh - Bradenton, Florida

Our food was good. That being said I did not like the service. To start: the kids menu was expensive for the selection. At the bottom they had the option for a side of fruit for $1.00 but when I tried to order it they wouldn’t let me because I was ordering a breakfast item. ‍♀️ I tried to substitute the bacon for an egg or fruit or anything really and was told “no substitutions.” It’s their business but I don’t have to like it, or return. It was the opposite of helpful. I was fine adding the fruit side for $1.00 but again was told no. We ordered our other food without issue. She brought water cups for the kids but not straws. Tea but no spoon. Toast but no jelly. It was a lot of us asking for normal items. It just wasn’t a great experience.

First off, Aryn was best waitress.
Considering all the high priced steak places we ate at and were happy with, this place had more local variety and much better value. All the food was delicious. We wish we had visited this place sooner. We would have come back for the $1 tapas and half price drinks during happy hour everyday 4-530.
The beer was also very good. We especially liked the Blowdown Brown and Powdercat Porter.
They take reservations if you make them at least a week before. We waited about 40 minutes at 6pm, and were very lucky to get in.
I had the elk. The filet was amazing. Ducknwas excellent and the ribs were fall off the bone and extremely tasty. Appetizers we had included thebpretzel, beer based onion soup and buffalo in blanket all highly recommended.
Just go and enjoy.

Back Door Grill

Located in beautiful Steamboat Springs Colorado, we have a passion for fresh, natural ingredients and a love of old fashioned burgers and brews. We hand cut our french fries and onion rings every morning, and we use only all-natural Colorado beef for our burgers. We care about the food that we serve - and the customers who we serve it to.

This restaurant is one block off the main street on Oak Street between 8th and 9th Streets. There is a large free parking lot next door and plenty of street parking. We ate here for lunch twice while in Steamboat and they have the best burgers. The upstairs bar also serves food, but all of the tables are tall with stools for seating. This area was louder and seemed more appropriate for adults. Our kids were not comfortable sitting up there for lunch. When the weather is nice, there is outside patio seating near the parking lot. The downstairs seating is also small, but best for lunch and especially with kids. There are TVs for viewing sports. On our first visit, I tried the philly cheese steak and added portabello mushrooms. It was great. We shared sweet potato fries which are the extruded variety rather than cut. My son and I also shared a chocolate shake which was huge and came with tons of whipped cream. It filled us up. He tried the John Wayne burger (with BBQ sauce and an onion ring) and loved it. The next visit with my other son, I tried the Buzz Lightyear Burger which was with a fried egg and avocado. It was really good. My son had his burger with cranberry sauce. One burger option is a Turkey burger with stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy and was called Grandmother’s House... Other burgers come with peanut butter (the waitress said it has a Thai flavor), and other crazy combos. You can have a single, double or triple - I can’t even imagine having room for that. Fries are also available in various options such as hand cut, curly, tater tots, etc. Really fun. Dollar bills which people have decorated, mostly with their hometown information, cover the walls and if you decorate one, the waitress will give you a staple gun to put it up on their wall. Downstairs for lunch is a great option with kids.

The Tacos were awesome as well as the Burrito. The Mexican coffee was great but we wanted more because the serving was small. The biggest problem is they do not take reservations.
