Went with the family and got taco specials and the portobello burger with red pepper and fresh mozzarella. The tacos were good but not very much meat or fish, but for $3 on fire island it was a bargain. Sangria and fries were also good. The dinner ends early and it turns into a bar. Good service .

I'm not really a dessert person but this place was great. I had a cherry Italian ice and it was one of the best I've had locally. I understand the need for people vacationing to Fire Island to pack their own food and such for their stays, but dont pack ice cream. Come here and treat yourself..every day... multiple times per day ...

Yummy, great place with home made fresh items. Had the most moistest coffee cake that was huge it lasted for days. I did not eat at the diner/restaurant portion but they had a line out the door both weekend mornings. On the main drag, not to be missed!

Healthy Italian food made with only the freshest of ingredients. We do not deep fry anything and use the highest quality cheeses, produce, olive oil, seafood and poultry. We create over 20 types of pizzas which are displayed in the showcase daily. We also offer a gluten-free menu and whole wheat pasta and pizza. Homemade desserts such as Nutella Cheesecake is highly recommended if you have enough room!! Please try us for catering as well.

I took my nieces and nephews out for an impromptu dinner.we were greeted very kindly and promptly .Michael, the owner as always greeted the children with a nice greeting and kind word.
We ordered various dinner combos.
One entree in particular was delicious.... Chicken saltimbocca prepared with expertise! Michael once again came to the table to assure the kids were content and inquired about the meals, a real gentleman!
The staff was friendly and very attentive!
I highly recommend this restaurant!

5 of us went to The Island Mermaid on a Wed evening w/o a reservation. Not only were they able to seat us, they gave us a great table on the rail overlooking the bay. Our servier T, was attentive, friendly and very accomodating. We spent close to 5-hours there, enjoying the live music and beautiful night.
Observing the staff, you could see that everyone really enjoyed working there. The owner Scott went from table to table through out the night to make sure that each table was taken care of and enjoying themselves. We engaged Scott in a conversation about how great his staff was. He was beaming with pride and explained how he interacts with his staff and his guests.
We live on the south shore of LI and are frequesnt visitors to Ocean Beach. We have had many a cocktail at the Island Mermaid, but never has dinner; I can assure you that The Island Mermaid is a must stop for us for dinner from now on!!

Came here for dinner one night and the food was decent. We ordered a few appetizers to share- fried calamari, shrimp rolls, pork lettuce wraps, and the spinach/artichoke dip. Honestly, the bread with the sweet butter they served for the table was the best part and what I enjoyed the most.
View was fantastic. Great view of the bay. Probably the nicest view compared to other restaurants in Ocean Beach. I would also think that this is one of the more "nicer" restaurants in OB. Not as casual as the others, and definitely one of those places someone might celebrate a special occasion.
Service was ok. It started to get a little busy after we got there so our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed, and more concerned for her larger tables.
Even though I wasn't thrilled with our food, I will still come back, we'll just have to order different things.

I have sampled their food and it was very nice. The tacos on Wednesday are more of an appetizer style (FYI).
The bartender was incredibly gracious and friendly. Alone, he would be reason enough to return.
Be sure to stop by and enjoy the food and the friendly and welcoming vibe.

The Out is the place to go for live bands and dancing under the stars. The patio is always full with a dancing crowd. The outdoor bars keep the lines moving.
Lunch and Dinner are the best. The fresh sushi and seafood are perfect for hot summer nights.

We ate outside on a beautiful summer evening - the food was very good as was the service. Saw a beautiful sunset as we were dining. Good selection of entrees - tuna was perfectly seared. Sides included delicious truffle fries and asparagus. Not one complaint from our group of eight.
