Stopped in during our week-long stay in Minori after reading all the great reviews. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Both indoor and covered outdoor seating. Service was generally inattentive (even by Italian waiter standards). Food was good, but not any better than other local restaurants and pricier. We didn't go back.Dear jkp99b,thanks a lot for choosing our restaurant!I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations although we always do our best.Hopefully you'll give us one more chance in the future, grazie,Antonio & Giovanni Di Bianco.

We visited this restaurant 3 years ago when visiting Maiori and just felt we had to come back. Franco is such a personable, attentive host and treats all customers like family. The food is always delicious and Franco’s homemade beer, wine & limoncello are just another reason to keep coming back. This is a family owned restaurant and it is obvious that they take great pride in serving the finest home style cooking available in Maiori.

We stayed at the Hotel Bonadies where this restaurant is located. It offers a 15% discount if you're staying at the hotel. As the title indicates, the view is terrific. It is a romantic location. The food purports to be above average, but found it average at best. Even with a 15% discount, we ate here only our 1st night in Ravello. We ate elsewhere every other night, repeating at several other Ravello restaurants instead. The baby octopus appetizer was disappointing. I had one at another Ravello restaurant that I reviewed, that was excellent, but these tiny octopi were too chewy. My wife had a pork main course, which was sent back, also for being too tough to eat. She had a caprese salad instead, which was the one excellent dish had here; it may have been the BEST caprese salad she had the whole trip and she had caprese salads often. My main course was lobster ravioli. If It hadn't been represented to be lobster, I'd never have guessed the filing. We ordered a local red wine per the server's suggestion. It was not outrageously priced at 45 Euros, though one of the higher-priced wines on the limited wine list, which tells you something, but it was a lackluster choice. We didn't finish it and took it back to our room. We drank the rest over the next week, but it was something to drink, rather than enjoy.Given the disappointing food, apart from the caprese salad, I'm torn between a 2 & 3 rating. Only the excellent view and accommodating staff saves the place from a dreaded 2.

This family run restaurant is located uphill, ~30 minutes hike from the Amalfi center. Reportedly they grow all the ingredients they serve on their menu, therefore NONE of the dishes (except for the cold cuts) contain any meat products. We weren't aware of this detail and I wish we would have known that ahead of time since I would not have visited and would have avoided the trip up there.First of all, the hike was pretty brutal, especially under the intense Amalfi Coast heat. There was no signage to guide us through the hike, but my iPhone GPS did a pretty goo job in getting us there. Once we got there we had a table reserved outside but we were too hot and sweating profusely to even think properly so we asked to be sat inside. After we cooled down and recovered our senses we walked out to the patio area to check it out and it was actually nice with some shade and a cool breeze. We still opted to stay inside though since we had some drinks already served at our table. The menu is rather limited with only a couple of main dishes offered and it seems they change it depending on what they have available from their garden/farm. They don't have much in terms of wine selection and the time we visited they only had red house wine to offer. They do have lemon drinks served in multiple different versions (limonata, granita, slushy, etc).We started off with the fried zucchini flowers which were the highlight of the meal and the only dish we actually enjoyed. We ordered another appetizer dish to share, frisella (or fresella?), which was like a bruschetta except it was a single, hard, large piece of twice baked bread topped with a few ingredients like onions, peppers, and sun dried tomatoes. It was boring and definitely not memorable in a good way. For our main entrees we had the pasta of the day dish which was a baked bucatini pasta, with provolone cheese and tomato (think lasagna here) and a lemon risotto. We ate the pasta dish because we were starving but it was not good at all. Not sure why they chose to bake the pasta, I think it would have been a much better dish if it would have just been cooked with tomato and cheese as the sauce. And the risotto, where do I even start? It was lemony and fragrant for sure, but really it was just a plain plate of rice, boring and lacking creativity.Although Amalfi is known for having way too many tourist traps for restaurants, I think any of the city center places would have been better than this one. The hike up there was definitely not worth the effort (and a close call for heat exhaustion), time or money. Although the meal was not expensive, the restaurant in my opinion does not deserve the 5-star rating it's gotten on other review platforms. The service was friendly enough, but it doesn't justify the visit. We didn't even want to experiment with dessert, although it looked like it could have been a decent choice, sadly we were just over the whole experience and wanted it to be over so we could hike our way back down to Amalfi under the scorching heat as quickly as possible.

A local shop owner (Antoinella from Passagiana) told us to come here; she said it was the best pizza in Ravello, and she was right! In fact, this was the best pizza we had in all of Italy! (And we visited over 10 cities). Beautiful restaurant - great indoor and outdoor seating. And the pizza is marvelous. As is the bread, so fresh! And we had a delicious mixed salad and zucchini soup. Everything on the menu is probably delicious. Amazing and attentive service too. This place is a MUST visit when in Ravello.

This restaurant is not easy to find. Tucked up on a hillside on the border of Pontone/Scala, San Giovanni is run by a brother and sister who are change agents in this medieval village. First, get there before sunset. The view is exceptional. Second, be prepared for a sophisticated vibe that one would not expect in Pontone. Third, the food is exceptional. Service is friendly and on point but the food is very, very good. Ask for some help with the wine selections unless you know Italian wines, and particularly those of Campagna, well. The “lady of the house” has an excellent palate, speaks impeccable English and was spot on in her recommendations to us. She knows her products well. The atmosphere was unexpected with the minimalist decor and light jazz playing in the background. Prepare to be surprised.

We stayed at this venue ( separate review) and ate here on 4 occasions out of our 6 day visit for a family wedding . Although this is a mainly pizzeria, they cater for many other tastes including my husbands fascination for steaks. The pizzas are too many to list but I have got a few photos. The staff are always friendly and attentive and is a very family orientated venue. It is family run and they really can't do enough for you. The food itself is excellent and they always give a complimentary starter of foccacia with tomatoes which in itself is a meal. The prices are a little expensive but consistent with the area. They do a special of a half metre pizza which we saw and would easily feed 4 to 6 and definitely the children. Definitely recommended to anyone in the area and locality.
