I hadn’t come across drunken goat’s cheese before, but evidently the name refers to the process of marinating the rind. There were three of us, and we ordered tapas for two, which proved to be ample for a light lunch. There was good vegetarian choice and friendly efficient staff – and right on the sea front.

We had drinks in here on a recent visit to Helensburgh and thoroughly enjoyed the ambience of the place! My husband and me remembered it as "the Imperial Hotel" back in the 70's when he was still in the Royal Navy... what a transformation! A very calm, interesting and peaceful venue - especially remembering the days of the "old Imps"! The staff were very helpful and the menu looked to be very good - I'm sure we'd have stayed to sample the food had not the grandchildren had their hearts set on fish suppers! We're so happy to have brought those fond memories! Thank you for your visit. We're bringing the hotel back soon so hopefully we'll see you again, maybe this time you'll stay with us for a night :)
