We spent the better part of a full day, walking around La Crucecita, shopping, eating, trying Mezcal, checking out the church, all without once feeling there was a safety issue. The local Mexican people are very kind and treat tourists like gold....They are making a new market, as it was under construction, should be something special when it's done.

High season I suspect it could be crowded. One of the three public beach clubs on Bahia Chahue, there also is a private one for the Castillo hotel guests. There are around ten beach beds, no extra charge, maybe thirty loungers with umbrellas, and a larger restaurant area with shade. A large surface, there is room to deploy additional sunbeds probably. The pool is rather small, 1.35 m deep; yes, there are a couple of missing tiles but very few.The beach isn't really swim-able, quite risky most of the time. The menu options are limited but good and fairly priced. The cocktails don't have much alcohol but they are 0.5 l big!Unless an La Isla hotel guest, admission fee is MXN 100 per person (9 AM to 6 PM, food/drinks service starts at 11 AM). For MXN 300 (per person) you get the admission and food/drink credit in the same amount.Bathrooms are OK, a bit dark; don't forget that M stands for Mujeres. It's good to spend a couple of hours.

Had a nice lunch here, we dined in the air conditioned portion of the restaurant. Food was good, however they butchered a margarita, have no idea what it was, but it was surely not a margarita. Would try it again, but perhaps not a lunch time.Thank you very much for you review, looking forward on serving you again for dinner.

Great place for dinner at reasonable prices. Try the citric chicken or shrimp crevice. Portions are huge and wonderfully presented. Great entertainment from Monday to Thursday. Meals run from 100 to 200 pesos. The steak and shrimp combo is excellent. Best night is Wednesday as they have a great live singer (Jorge Chavez) from 7:00 to 10:00. Don’t miss this place.

We sat upstairs and had cold beers and really good tacos! Had three each of the chorizo, chicken, and shrimp. We were stuffed and the bill was incredibly low. Lots of locals and the food is flying out of the main floor cooking area. The tyaludas looked fantastic but didn’t try on this visit.

This is an upstairs restaurant that is easy to miss. It’s located near a corner of the zocalo which it overlooks. Nice place to grab breakfast...good food, good coffee, good juices, good selection of food, good service, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Prices are a little more than you’d pay in some of the nearby local spots, but they are quite reasonable. Good place to start the day.

More of a typical Mexican restaurant, with solid food and cheap. We had the chicken soup, which was great, the flautas, and tostadas, which were very good. They serve beer here too. Meal for four with beer was under $25. Well worth a visit.

El Sabor de Oaxaca

Reviewed By 99irac

Upon the recommendation of a fellow traveler, I visited El Sabor de Oaxaca for some mole on my recent trip to Huatulco during Holy week in April. El Sabor de Oaxaca is located right in the center of La Crucecita. I ordered the chicken with black mole and it was quite delicious. During my meal, the owner came over and had a great discussion with me about the regional food and the restaurant. Upon his recommendation I also got some amazing mezcal to finish off my meal with. Not disappointed with this meal! I wish i had the appetite to try the Oaxaca food sampler so i could have tried more variety but very happy with this meal. Hope you get to stop in on your next visit to Huatulco!
