Great dining experience. Excellent view of Mt. Cimone. Had their fresh home made Tagliatelle with mushroom outstanding.Not a large wine list selection, however moderately price. Very clean restaurant with excellent service.

Our kitchen is typical and particular of our mountains , with our specialty :the duck . Our meals are abundant and delicious , with the possibility to eat in our room or outdoors with views of the mountains. The farm has 3 bookable apartaments.

We stayed here (myself and my wife) on a night away from the kids with the intention to hike and switch off. We managed both with some amazing trails from Abetone up to 'Libro Aperto'. The stay at Al Castagno was more than we could have hoped for. From arrival to departure nothing was too much for our hosts. We decided to eat in and the food was very very good .... and at budget prices!! We slept better than we have done in ever ..... absolute peace and quiet!We will definitely be back here and more than likely take friends with us. There are three separate apartments which in total could easily cater for 12-14 guests. Thank you so much!

We stopped by to fish and have lunch after reading reviews here on Tripadvisor. I was a little nervous as there was no phone number or information about hours. We found it easily at the address listed here and they were very accommodating. We came with our dog too and they were happy to have her. First we fished. It is a tiny little, stocked pond. They give you a pole, bucket, towel and wooden mallet. Everything is very organized. As soon as we threw in the line a fish bit! Immediately! Then a second time too! We paid 11,00⬠a kilo and they held the fish for us while we had lunch. It is not fishing for a serious fisherman or woman. It is a fun little stocked pond where I imagine small children or tourists can catch a fish without skill or tools and still have a wonderful time! So alter your expectations for this type or experience and you will not be disappointed. Then we had lunch which was wonderful! A simple menu with choice of 3 pasta dishes, 3 crostini and a dessert! Our food was traditional, abundant and very good! The service was quick and kind. The place is like a little mountain retreat with lawn chairs scattered around and tables all over. For a quick, calm and quiet afternoon it was perfect! We would highly recommend it!

restaurant is small, a few tables, service is very personalised. The food is excellent but the portions are normal some I would recommend to order more than one dish. recess are out of the ordinary prices are very reasonable.

We went here last night with a large group of friends that included a bunch of teenagers who chose this spot. As an American living in Italy, I'm a bit leery of Italians making burgers, as their attempts are usually pretty bad. The others said the burgers were good, and since I miss good burgers, I said a prayer and ordered a cheeseburger with fries. Not bad!! The Italians will never get down the proper bun for a burger, but that said, it was totally acceptable. Meat was great as were the fries. I tried the pizza and was really tasty as well. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Quiet despite it being in the middle of the ski season when I went, it has good quality classic tuscan food with friendly service. I will definitely return next time I'm in the area

At the top of a pass with a carpark with a wonderful view a helpful traffic policeman suggested this place for a brunch. Local were there in a good number. Had polenta and mushrooms that was superb. A little off the beaten track but worthy of a visit in its own right

We stopped here on a Sunday for lunch. The restaurant was filled with local families (taking mama and grandma out for Sunday lunch, a few children, a couple of dogs hiding under their owners tables) -- really just a warm, welcome restaurant, and a good lunch. We had a couple of their veal dishes - one with pasta and one with mushrooms. Both dishes were very good, as was the mixed green salad - very fresh. Then for desert you should try their ice cream (really yellow in color) topped with either blueberries or hot dark chocolate. A really nice local restaurant. It sits just off of the main road, next to a very large parking lot. Not fancy, but nicely decorated with mountain lodge style furniture and wall hangings.
