VagaFogo is a ecological sanctuary near the town of Pirenopolis here in Goias, Brazil. We took a group of 23 Wisconsin folks here this morning for the brunch and a walkabout of the grounds, which includes some exotic flora and possible monkey sightings. The the brunch is served in courses with all manner of jams, breads, meats, chutneys, and countless flavorings, all delicious and authentic. Well worth the visit and R$52 per person. Highly recommend you try it - we will be back.

First a disclaimer: we were treated well and the chef (Alex) and waitress apologized for everything that happened. My wife and I went to Umami on July 2018 for dinner. We ordered 2 risottos and two juices and were told that it would take a long time to process our order. We agreed to wait and said it would not be a problem. 1 hour and 15 minutes passed and we still didn’t see any signs of our juices. We decided to order a water while we were waiting. When the water came, I inquired about the juices and the risottos. Alex apologized and said that due to a mistake our plates were mixed with another table, meaning they were not processing or cooking our order. We ordered then two pastas, the quickest dish in the house. After 30 minutes our plates arrived, and once again we were disappointed: my plate (talharim da vó) was oversalted (and I do like salty food). My wife ordered a talharim with veggies and it was soaked in olive oil, with few vegetables. We also asked for some napkins but were never given any. We ate without them in the end. At the end of the dinner, Alex apologized for the problems. We understand that the restaurant was busy and that it was undergoing some changes in the staff. Still, it didn’t make up for a lost night in Pirenopolis for us. I do hope Umami gets good reviews and becomes the top restaurant in Pirenopolis. Our experience unfortunately was bad. A quote on prices: as of July 2018, a plate costs between 35 to 50 reais and it is well served for one person. I’m very sorry for all of that. Unfortunately I can not( and should not) forget that night. It was nevertheless a good experience for us do not commit the same mistekes. Once again I apologize for what happened. We saw this on trip advisor and it was as good as everyone reported. The quality of the food was excellent as was the price and presentation. Its location away from the main eating area sitting outside was a bonus, and it was our favourite restaurant of all those visited here

I was so happy that I went all the way with the bus (3 hrs) from Brasilia. It is worth it!I took the "menu of the day" and it was just fabulous - presentation was really inviting with variety of colours and many food groups. It tasted so natural and fresh. Primeira parada em Piri foi na Manga Rosa para fazer um lanche. Amei as opções de sucos, todos naturais, e de tapiocas. Existem outras comidinhas também. Escolhi a tapioca de muçarela e shitake, muito boa. Pena que tinha acabado morango, aí não pude tomar o suco que tinha escolhido a princípio de cupuaçu com morango. O ambiente é simples, mas agradável. O preço é honesto. Muito bem localizado: na lateral da igreja.
