In the middle of Placencia. You cannot beat the location. The food is very good and worth checking out. All tables are set outside and surrounded a next door to a house. It is not the best view or setting but the food is above average and priced decently.

It was a sultry afternoon,we had rented a golf cart to cruise around in and around Hopkins,and we luckily came upon The Curve Bar. Standing on the bank of the Sittee River,surrounded by tropical flowers and greenery, the thatched roof structure is built of gorgeous wood, typical of the areas architectural heritage. The setting magical. We sat at a table next to the river,as we were in desperate need of some cool liquid refreshment. Drink selections were numerous and were unique, making our decisions even the more difficult. I chose a cold blend of rum,cocoa, and coconut-Wow ! My husband ordered a juice-smoothie made from bananas, mango, lime, and rum,( x 2), which cooled him down quickly from the humidity. Warm crispy chips and watermelon salsa were brought by a friendly and humorous young lady. We were 100% relaxed. The bartender came by and asked how the drinks were. Fantastic, we ordered another round.....the Mayan Gods were speaking to us now. Time floated by as it would sitting next to the river,and we realized we had to get the cart back quick as the rental shop was closing and we did have a way to go, we did not want to. Sadly, we had to depart Belize the next morning, we had made this discovery on the tail end of our Belize adventures. I would definitely return to taste one of the fresh fish dishes,and to investigate the drink of the day. Many thanks to the attentive and welcoming hostess and bar-keep,for an enjoyable experience.

We stopped in for dinner during our stay at a nearby hotel/resort - a short walk down the beach. Weâre not a vegetarian family, and we do have some food allergies,and this turned out to be a fantastic spot for us, including dessert choices. If youâre staying in the area and looking to try something new, we highly recommend strolling down the beach and stopping here!

We had high hopes, because the restaurant has a beautiful refined ambience. But the food wasn't great, and the cocktails were disappointing. Also, the waiters were overwhelmed, causing slow service. I will say that we were there Christmas day, so our experience may not have been the norm. Dear MAFlyer,Our sincere apologies that your experience was not what it should have been. We were excited to go to the grand opening but it took two hours to get served, no one got what they ordered, and it wasn't really worth waiting for. Have been back a couple of times and had similar experiences. Nice place, though.
