Letâs start with the many positives- good efficient staff, prompt service, interesting menu and reasonable prices. Itâs a busy establishment with a delightful outlook over the harbour.All this leads me to say it is a good choice for a pleasant dinner. However, while my partners seafood pasta bake with side salad met her hopes, my crab linguini with fresh chilli was disappointing. The flavour I anticipated was not delivered as the chilli was totally lacking in capsaicin, the active ingredient that makes chilli chilli. The red vegetable in my rather watery pasta was no more than capsicum. With the very good garlic bread and my wifeâs pasta bake scoring well, mine was a substantial let down.I hope the management improve this dish as the establishment deserves it.

All we wanted was a light lunch nothing fancy or expensive just a sandwich and a drink!! Unfortunately the menu has changed and although we sat outside with a stunning view of St Michaelâs Mount with a refreshing drink we couldnât have our sandwich!! I understand the need to change the menu but not everyone wants to spend a fortune and have a large meal at lunchtime!! We live in Cornwall and would probably think twice about eating here again unless we can have just a sandwich like you used to able to do!!!

Lovely place to sample from a huge range of Belgian beers in an informal setting. Friendly service and food range of food ranging from snacks to main dishes. The waffles are super light and delicious. Highly recommend.

You just want to try everything on this innovative menu. Dishes are full of flavour, beautifully presented and not too heavy. Everything is as fresh as you would expect. Can recommend the Pork Scratchings with Apple Purée, Calamari, Garlic Bread, Scallop with Macaroni Cheese, Mackerel, Steak. I could go on.........Every dish was a stand out dish for us and desserts were delicious. Relaxed vibe and helpful friendly staff.

What a lovely place! A beautiful setting with stunning sea views. Charming staff, super service and delicious food. Imaginative, beautifully prepared and presented, a real treat. This is serious qulaity in action but not the least stuffy. A wonderful evening.

Why did I give only âaverageâ when so many other reviews give âexcellentâ? Tricky one. Staff certainly really welcoming, friendly and professional. They deserve an âexcellentâ rating. The food was nice, but certainly wasnât excellent. It was a bit ordinary and the Hake Mornay was short on hake and uncomfortably salty.We ate in 4 other St Ives restaurants that week and 3 of them were considerably better and not that different in price.

So happy my husband chose this restaurant, the food was amazing, first class chef and his team, it didnât matter to us that it was a bit slow as we appreciate how long it takes to do such lovely food. Brilliant café, just what we needed. Friendly faces welcomed us and the dog inside. Best flat white coffee of the week and delicious light scones. We returned for a late lunch: again beautifully light bread for the sandwiches, delicious fillings (cheddar with onion marmalade and Cornish Brie with apple chutney) and just the right portion of side salad.

We had drinks here one night, and came back the next night for dinner. We loved the warm, cosy decor, good choice of drinks and pretty good food. The only thing that wasnât great was the service; a lot of errors both times, the staff were friendly but lacked professionalism. They forgot to bring menus and to seat us in the restaurant until well after the reservation time, and every drinks order was messed up. All in all, however, we forgave the slapdash service because the ambiance and food made up for it.
