With a population of 26,672 (1 January 2014), Svendborg is Funen's second largest city. In 2000 Svendborg was declared "Town of the year" in Denmark, and in 2003 it celebrated its 750th anniversary as a market town. By road, Svendborg is located 195 kilometres (121 mi) southwest of Copenhagen, 183 kilometres (114 mi) south of Aarhus, 44.2 kilometres (27.5 mi) south of Odense, and 28.5 kilometres (17.7 mi) east of Faaborg.

We had one og the best experiences on the restaurant. The food was stunningly good and the service was fantastic. We are definitely coming back.. If the hotel is as good as the restaurant, we may stay the night.

We visited Restaurant Borsen twice, one day for their Brunch and another to have a burger. This is more like a large pub, decorated from the 80's. Service - 4 - We had the same waitress for both days, friendly service, fluent in English. The food took a little bit longer than anticipated on the second day. Food - 4 - The Brunch we chose consisted of typical breakfast sausage, bacon, excellent scrambled egg, potato wedges, fruit, yoghurt, pancakes and syrup, bread. Plenty of tasty variety for everyone. Our burger on the second day was very good.Value - 4 - The brunch was 155 Kr, Which is a very good price for the amount of different mini breakfasts we received. The burger was 115 Kr. Both very good, fair prices. We are likely to visit again when in Svendborg.

There aren't too many restaurants in Svendborg and eating out is not a major sport for cash-strapped Danes but Krinsen is one of the best. We had a very enjoyable all-you-can-eat deal, beef, a big variety of vegetables, with good red wine, in a very pleasant setting, and it came to about £80 for two. Not outstanding but very good.

We have made a restaurant that we would like to eat at. The food is simple, the taste is deep, the service is flying, and the room gives you a hug. A contemporary brasserie, with focus on the vegetables, great quality and fresh fish or meet.

We had the pleasure to dine at this small and cozy restaurant. Our expectations were high and we were not dissatisfied. The food served was not ground breaking but nevertheless very well prepared-Sea bisque with delicate flavours (and som awesome bread)-Crisply fried veal on paprika/cream sauce and maskhed potatos (basically a new version of Beuf Stroganoff)-30 month old Comté cheese with browned, melted butter and crisp walnuts- Chokolate tarte with ice cream etc.The chef definitely knew how to get the best flavours out of the raw materials - unfortunately we were too polite to lick the dishes.To this we ordered the wine ad libitum option and was positively surprised by well chosen wines (Rosé, White, Red) generously served.The place was saturday night busy, but nevertheless the waiter was very attentive (without being at our necks all the time) and had a good sence of humour.And the price? Absolutely reasonable (Less than DKK 550 per pers, including additional dessert wine)All in all a very positive experience where we felt that we received far more than just value for money.

This restaurant is quite popular. It is situated in the pedestrian street area on the sunny side in the afternoon and with outdoor seating it more or less sells itself. At my last visit the waiting time was so long that we decided not to return. But looking inside there seemed to be servants enough, so we gave it a try.We ordered the steak and fries with a cold tarragon sauce and a small salad. The salad and the sauce was fine. The fries were of the precut type, but warm and crisp with the right amount of salt. The steak was tender but undercooked. We ordered medium, but it was medium-rare. As for drinks the organic ginger beer was delicious. No one ever turned up to ask about coffee and eventually we just paid at the bar.

I wish that I had gone to this restaurant first, because it would then be my only "5" rating while here...We attempted to eat at Resume this evening, however it was reservations only, so we ventured down to this place. We were amazed by the service and the meal.We started with a bottle of their Cote d'Rhone - which was the perfect balance for our meals (mostly Granache)...I ordered the roasted lemon sole, my wife ordered the rib eye steak. Both were prepared to perfection. The sole was delicate, light and flaked as it should. It was perched on a bed of vegetables that were also cooked to perfection. It came with steamed potatoes (more than you can eat) and served with a delicious sauce that was perfectly matched. Utterly outstanding meal.The rib eye steak was also cooked to perfection and came with vegetables and a light cabbage salad. It included fries. Thus meal was also savory and wonderful.We finished with their Creme Brulee and a couple of glasses of their port. What a nice finish.It topped the other 2 restaurants we rated (though all were good) and felt it was the best meal of our trip.

My wife and I visited "Tapas Classico" with another couple, who also appreciate good wine and good tapas.We had a very good service at the restaurant with a good selection of great-sounding red wines, white wines and rosés. Two of us had a really tasty amarone with our tapas, my wife and her friend has a glass of a white wine and a rosé. The Amarone was really good.The tapas was very expertly made, presented and served. It was very tasty.
