Surprisingly high-quality cuisine. Fresh catch of the day fish and sea fruit. Each dish with its distinct flavor. Beautiful presentation. The staff is very attent and gives lengthy explanations on ingredients of each suggestion. We were surprised to find such high quality gastronomy at such a relaxed and easy going place. If and when we are back we shall certainly return here.

The best Green Smoothie I've ever had! Vegan and gluten free options everywhere. My smoothie was boosted with hemp but there's loads of other superfoods you can add to the blend. This Cafe exhibits lots of beautiful local art. The staff members are lovely people! Got a tip on this place and told to get the butter chicken if on the menu. It was, I got, I loved! HAd apps, dinner, desert and bottle of wine for wife and I and bill $70. Well worth it.

Not sure I understand the previous review, yes there is an issue with garbage but that is not specific to this location. Breakfast was a little limited when we visited on Saturday morning. I had the ham and cheese sandwich and my boyfriend had the oatmeal (which he was surprised to receive as a cold dish). Overall good quality food at fair prices, will try the pancakes next time as another table had those and they looked good Hi Rachel! Thank you for visiting us. Yes, we had a limited menu for a few days as we were out of town and our champ employee Jazmin did her best! If you're still here, please come by as we are back with a full menu from tomorrow. The overnight oats are indeed cold, as we make them with soy milk in the fridge overnight. Hope you liked them!Best regards,Sara + Anders

The family goes to work to prepare fresh cooked food in short order. We had arroz y frijoles con pollo. The chicken was marinated, tender and falling off the bone. A hot sauce with carrots and onions iis served to spice up the beans and rice. We were warned it was spicey but not so for Nuevo Mexicanas. Want to return and try the camarones and the pie de Limon. Service was more than excellent. A little off the main road; look for the sign. Opens promptly noon.

What a wonderful place to have breakfast. Beautiful selection for breakfast however the chefs and owners seemed really happy to make changes/recommendations based on our requests. The cafe has a lovely ambience and filled us up till dinner. Iâd definitely go back again and again. It closes at midday so make sure you get there before to avoid disappointment!

We had dinner at the Tasty Waves Cantina while staying in Puerto Viejo. The staff was very nice, the cocktails and food were delicious. Looking from the outside, the cantina looks a bit rustic, but everything we ordered was great! We would totally recommend it.

Enjoyed a couple of nice meals here.Nice local restaurant, very local for Azania Bungalows and accommodation between Puerto Viejo and Cocles.A wide beer selection (served in a frosted glass which was a nice touch), and variety of food including vegetarian options.The fish ordered was particularly terrible but the rest of the food ordered was good - the Carribbean chicken and the beef steak dishes particular highlights . The waiting staff were extremely nice and patient. Recommended for a relaxed dinner.

Most of the food was very nice, full of flavour and good portion size. However the rice and French fries were fairly average.Setting is nice, quiet and relaxed. Would definitely recommend.

Traveling for almost a month in Costa Rica, by FAR(!) the best place we ate in.The atmosphere is amazing, our host was so helpfull and kind, the food was fabulous, the drinks were excellent, and the service felt so professional.We had guys coming in every few minutes to wipe the water coming out of the drinks on the table (not in a wierd way), always checking in with us, got a small treat from the kitchen as a desert since we were really full, and such a smiling host.. She made our night. The prices are reasonable for the food and overall value. this should be your first restaurant choice in the area.
