My 81-year old father and I had a late lunch here in the Summer of 2012. This seafood restaurant was recommended by our motorcycle taxi driver who had transported us from the bus station for the perilously exciting and scenic ride to the South China Silk Road Maritime Museum. After our visit to the museum, we had several hours to dine before our trip back to Kaiping. This restaurant has no menu. Instead, the server led my father to a wall of salt water tanks where he pointed out the seafood he wanted and indicated the amount as they weighed his selections. Then he chose the method of cooking, i.e. boiling, stir-fry, deep-fried, etc. I remember him saying, "You can't get better or fresher seafood than this...I saw the shrimp jumping!" Our food was amazing! Prices were reasonable. The servers were incredibly patient with our inability to speak their dialect. We speak only Toishanese and English, hence our dependence on pointing and writing our questions/requests in Chinese. The ice cold beer was perfect on a hot summer day.
