Stowmarket (/ˈstoʊˌmɑːrkɪt/ STOH-mar-kət) is a small market town in Suffolk, England, on the busy A14 trunk road between Bury St Edmunds to the west and Ipswich to the southeast. The town is on the main railway line between London and Norwich, and lies on the River Gipping, which is joined by its tributary, the River Rat, to the south of the town.

Honestly the worst Chinese I've had. We were in East Anglia for our wedding anniversary weekend and chose to have a take away on our anniversary night. I ordered salt and pepper bean curd... I order it at any Chinese I go to and always enjoy it...this was the worst and honestly disgusting. It wasn't seasoned at all - it was just plain fried bean curd, that's it. Where was the 'heat' as described on the menu and the salt and pepper?My husband's sea salt chilli chicken was obviously frozen, he said it was crumbly and dry. The Satay sauce was SO runny I could pour it straight down the sink with ease (which is where it went in the end) and tasted truly terrible. The chow mein tasted old. I think the only thing I enjoyed was the egg fried rice...But it's not that hard to get that wrong.The service was also really bad and unprofessional. When I called to order, I was made to feel like we were such an inconvenience by asking what the wait time was (so we could plan when to leave to collect the order).We turned up to collect our order, the guy I spoke to on the phone was moaning to his friend about A "rude woman" a customer he spoke to on the phone. Didn't welcome us and continued to moan whilst we stood there patiently.

Well, one of the worst if not the worst Chineseâs I have ever had. The veg in the Satay chicken skewers was raw veg and the chicken was so over cooked I couldnât cut it. The only good thing was the chips. Very disappointed especially as it wasnât cheap. Definitely not fresh.

We ordered from here many times as it was the best Chinese takeaway in Stowmarket by a mile. It has recently been taken over and the standard has dropped HUGELY. Mine and my wife's favourite dish was always the Hot and Sour soup. In other parts of the country Hot and Sour soup is so rich and beefy, in Suffolk it's always weak and watery. Authentic was the only place in Suffolk that made PROPER hot and sour soup. Since the changeover, it's good old weak and watery. What a shame! Please bring back the old chef!!!!

We had another lovely meal here. The girls are always friendly. The only issue as always is the atmosphere, although at least it's somewhere you can definitely have a chat and a glass of wine with no noise lol it would be nicer to have some oriental music and to update the decor a bit. The food is always delicious and so we always go back. It's very reasonably priced and great for families. :)

The food was average: beef slices tough and cut too large, deep fried crispy shredded duck is actually similar to deep fried chilli beef you normally find in Chinese restaurants (sweet bright red sauce) so we should have clarified. The prices were reasonable, and service was good and polite; however, this is the first time we encountered a take -away place wanting to charge for chopsticks. £1, we were told, and when we asked if that was £1 each or £1 for us all, the girl said £1 is for two chopsticks, not one!Not good enough, unless you're lost, far away from home and in desperate need for Chinese food.

Went with family for Sunday lunch. You would need to book as it gets very busy. Very down to earth place with large portions. Some of our group had a small plate and some medium but we all had plenty of meat with a good choice of roast potatoes and vegatables. I am Gluten free and could eat all except the stuffing and yorkshires. Prices were very reasonable.

I have been coming here for years now and the food always lovely in fact itâs the best Iâve found. My favourites are crispy prawn dumplings, crispy duck, sweet n sour chicken Cantonese style (A whole family favourite) and I love the choice when ordering chow mein of wet or dry depending on what we fancy at the time we have tried both styles and love them. If eating In I also have the frozen chocolate mouse for dessert which is yummy lots of choice. Been with family, and friends we all love it here. Warm friendly staff never had a problem. Highly recommend. Would have given 10 stars if I could.
