Together with Torquay and Brixham it forms the borough of Torbay which was created in 1998. The Torbay area is a holiday destination known as the English Riviera. Paignton's population in the United Kingdom Census of 2011 was 49,021. It has origins as a Celtic settlement and was first mentioned in 1086. It grew as a small fishing village and a new harbour was built in 1847. A railway line was opened to passengers in 1859 creating links to Torquay and London. As its population increased, it merged with the villages of Goodrington and Preston.

Called in here last night for my tea. Found it to be clean and the staff friendly. The food could have however could have been cooked in two different places. I ordered the hot and sour soup which to my palate was neither hot (spicy) or sour and was really rather bland and disappointing. My main course however a special fried rice was lovely. Packed with flavours and came with a sauce rather than been a dry dish as is often the case. The meat was also beautifully cooked. It just goes to show very often it's what you order not where you order. Was ok value for money and worth a punt.

Delivery was a bit slow (slower than originally quoted), food could have been hotter upon arrival. However, quality was very good except for the pork balls which were very tough/chewy. Good portion sizes, plenty of free prawn crackers and fortune cookies.

You were up there. Right at the top. Best Chinese (okay, Cantonese) food in the area. What happened? We ordered pretty much the same dish we've been having every time we've bought from you but this time it was totally different. The rice, different. The duck, different. The beef, different. And not good different. And the huge drop in quality cost us an extra 20% on the bill.I understand that things change, but surely change needs to be for the better.

In two weeks we have been charged extra for prawn crackers when we have always had these free as we buy a lot from this chinese regularly and we were told delivery is now £2 as we are outside their radius ... funny how two weeks ago we were only charged £1.30 which is what we have always been charged and we havenât moved !!!! ... Rather than continue a hostile argument we have moved our regular custom to Rickshaw Boys Our delivery prices have been changed since 1st of November 2018 and we have been very clear to our customer since changing. Delivery charge of £1.30 within 2 miles and £2 for delivery OVER 2 miles.Prawn crackers are not guaranteed and are free according to availability, unfortunately we cannot break the minimum £20 policy for one customer.

Arrived on a Saturday evening said they were closed, still people sitting at tables. We had walked 45 minutes to bd told this very disappointed!! A customer was leaving and told us , donât bother the food is terrible !!!! Dear Mellook, We're sorry for the inconvenience. But when you arrived is already past our opening hours. and all of them is our loyal customer if our food is terrible is no point they are come back again and again. I think your comment is biased. Anyway thank for your reviews and sorry about that.

Possibly the most fresh Chinese Iâve ever eaten. We are visiting Devon staying down the road from the Chinese and trip advised local food places.We called and made the order on the phone, picked it up about 20 mins later. Ordered quite a-bit and it came to £29. The food was spot on, One small moan, husband asked for prawn crackers, was told to pay £1.80 but another customer came in and was told it was free. Not sure it was the cost of the order but weâre used to free crackers over £12 in London lol! All in all I would recommend eating here. Food was lovely!
