The restaurant has a park in the backyard and two floors of indoor outdoor seating with soft lights. Nice ambiance for dinner. They had a two for one special for some of the rum cocktails, and each drink is topped with a beautiful intricate design. Food is good- had Thai shrimp summer rolls, pasta alla bolognese, and an arugula pizza. Bill came to around $40 USD. Would come back again.

I will consider one of those lifetime memorable meals that come along about two every decade. Firstly, the restaurant is charming, and the menu offers a broad selection that will appeal to every taste. I had the pork chop with chimichurri, delicate vegetables, and coconut rice. Served with a carménère, it was a wonderful combo of flavors and textures. The Bailey's cheesecake was beautiful and not too sweet. Family that runs the place does a fantastic job, and their young son is a remarkably knowledgeable dinosaur enthusiast.

Simple but tasty food in a casual setting. It was a hot evening and they only had a single fan going but we were used to it by then and a cold lime juice did the trick. Definitely give it a try!

First off for all those raving about fry Jack's, have you ever had a sopapilla? Much better than a fry jack. That said over all the food was good. Very friendly service Resonable prices, ok better than resonable. Darn cheap. And they take credit cards. I had Chaya pockets. Unusual, not bad. Just different. Wife had sausage omelette. More food than she could eat.

We visited Benny’s kitchen after visiting Xunantunich. It is close to the ruins. The restaurant has lino tables and concrete floor so it’s not posh but the food is excellent. My husband was very keen on trying rice and beans which is a local speciality and I tried the fish sere. Both were outstanding. We also had the soursop juice and the lime juice. Well worth visiting if you like trying the local cuisine.

We loved the traditional Mayan Dinner. it was absolutely delicious!. the ingredients were all fresh and very well prepared. A nice Soup an OK salad of Jicama and orange. Could have been more interesting. Turkey and Pork Tacos on fresh Tortillas, really tasty , all ingredients were fresh and lovely. Dinner was really delicious! Portions were adequate and flavors were delicate. Service was great and the atmosphere was lovely. At $22 USD it was resort priced. Stiil Fair. After Dinner we took the the program on making Chocolate. $15USD. This was presented by a local Chocolate maker who did an excellent job of showing us how chocolate was made and we even got to do it our selves. The result was a rich chocolate drink the Mayans have enjoyed for thousands of years. This was a priceless insight to the process of chocolate making. We are very happy that our kitchen team was able to exceed your expectations. We are considered moderately priced as a resort. As a resort, we know we have an extra responsibility to assure food safety and something above just a tasty meal. The focus on farm-to-table, the organic gardens, advanced food safety training for our food and beverage manager, and even the garden tours all add up to a lot of value for a little more than what you can pay in a regular restaurant in town. Our guests often tell us that this is why they chose to stay at the Maya Mountain Lodge.
