I purchased some cakes from the appealing selection in the bakery area, and was horrified when the woman serving picked them up with her fingers - right across the top of the cakes, not even attempting to hold them by the edges - and then proceeded to handle money. This needs to be sorted. We're really sorry to hear about your experience, please accept our apologies. We have reminded everybody of our food handling policies and can we assure you that all members of the team wash their hands regularly throughout service.

Stanford Coffee Shop

My daughters and I have been here several times now and have always had a great experience. You’re always made to feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble. I have particularly enjoyed the soup with a cheese scone during the winter months, and there is always a wide variety of cakes on offer with gluten free options. I also really like the little shortbread biscuits they serve with their tea and coffee! A special mention also goes to the icecream shakes which are absolutely delicious. The coffee shop owners are also extremely community minded, and have hosted charity events, plus I believe there is now a repair shop that runs from there, and a local knitting group. There is a large playroom, with tables alongside for parents to sit in comfort and watch their children having fun while they drink their tea!Highly recommended place to visit, whether you’re with family, friends, or just stopping off after a dog walk for an ice cream! They do ice creams for dogs there too!

Background: Tucked away in the heart of Grove since 1995, Cornerstone is a café, book shop and venue run by four churches working together. Staffed by both professionals and volunteers they have a reputation for quality food and special ambience. My bit..... I do not attend a church or follow a religion and so on my first visit I was unsure what to expect (with it being a church run Café) but to my delight they welcome EVERYONE.Every member of staff is very friendly. The space is cosy but has plenty of room to maneuver buggies and wheelchairs. The food is all freshly cooked and prepared, the food is simple yet delicious. I have never been disappointed. The chefs are consistently brilliant. The menu consists of sandwiches, baguettes, jacket potatoes, soups, omelettes, salads, breakfasts including the option of a vegetarian breakfast, kids menu and lots lots more, defiantly plenty of choice. A favourite is the open sandwiches or the cheese and apple toastie. If you just what to pop in for a hot drink and a sweet nibble they have plenty of homemade cakes and slices. You have the option of booking a table, would recommend if you have a party larger than 4.The charm of this place is it's atmoshere, awesome homecooked food and the friendly welcoming staff. Always good to see Mark with his beaming smile ☺I meet and eat at cornerstones regularly. I would recommend cornerstones to friends, families, solos or couples

We came here after a morning walk having preordered our food at 10am. They were well able to cope with a group of 15 for lunch without putting off their regular customers. Most of us had main courses, which are reasonably priced at about £7 to £9. The food is of course café style with most courses coming with chips and salad, but it was served promptly, and the service was friendly and attentive. We will be back!

Cafe Buzz was our planned stop half way round a 5 mile circular walk and we could not have chosen better. The welcome for us and the dog was very warm and genuine and there is a huge selection of menu choices. We tried various sandwiches, salads and crepes and everyone was very well pleased... servings are generous and prices are an absolute bargain. This is a place with real heart and soul and I would highly recommend it.

The food and drink here is lovely BUT whilst the lady I was with had her cake and coffee I had to wait 10 minutes for my food, it would have been so much nicer to have eaten together even if we had different food. Also, some of the chairs are too close together making sitting down difficult unless you are able to go up the steps to a larger table. I assumed everywhere needed to be wheelchair accessible and wheelchair friendly but I didn't see how as there were a couple of steps into the cafe and more steps to get to the toilets (I didn't look to see if there were disabled toilets but wheelchair users who have to stay in their chair wouldn't be able to make it up steps!!!!Would be nice if the website had more information on it.Good morning, Many thanks for your review although we are wondering if you could please provide some more information? After reviewing everything we can see there have been no visitors using a wheelchair?.We do not advertise ourselves as being wheelchair accessible due to the age of the building and where the facilities are. Sadly we have to keep them where they are. Although saying that we do have lots of customers who frequent us with wheelchair users. Our tables are spaced with enough room to manoeuvre but customers are more than welcome to move a chair out and pop it to the side if they require more space. The only difference with the tables at the top of the stairs is that there is a table for 8 people, the bottom half has two tables for 6 and an abundance of 4 seater tables. But as you mention there had been 2 of you I can't imagine you required the table for 8 which was up the few steps. With regards to the cake, the waitress is responsible for serving the cakes etc and the kitchen for the food. The customers are happy to either ask if they wanted it at the same time or ask the waitress to bring the cake and they will wait for the other person to be served their food. The waitress would have been more than happy to do this for you. We are happy that you mentioned how lovely the food and drinks are, we are proud to serve everything which is cooked fresh to order. Many thanks again.
