Caffi Neli

Reviewed By Karen W

The weather meant there were only three of us in the café on a Saturday morning, but it deserved to be much busier as it's a more authentic alternative to the restaurant in the clothing outlet opposite. The staff were very friendly and happy to provide helpful tips about which parts of the island were still suffering the effects of Storm Emma and where we might find less disruption. A wonderful bacon, egg and sausage roll appeared very quickly and was one of the best I've tasted - fresh and piping hot, as was the coffee. Caffi Nelli is one of those local businesses that really should be supported - beats Starbucks and Costa hands down in my opinion!

Three of us enjoyed coffee and shortbread, really excellent. Our visit coincided with a cloudburst, and in Menai Bridge when it rains, it really rains! Although Pot Jam was closing, we were offered the chance for us to stay and sit it out.Previously, I’d visited for lunchand the soup and jacket potato were really tasty and home-made. Certainly on my next visit to y Borth, “I’ll be back!”

A lovely garden setting on a sunny day, just off the cycle path with cycle racks and water and biscuits for dogs.We had goats cheese and red onion tart with salad, which was lovely, however the coffee is possibly the worst I've had. We bought bara brith to take out which was excellent.Really sorry you didn't enjoy the coffee...but we do have the option of filter coffee on the menu if you prefer

Cegin Harri's Kitchen

This is relatively newly opened cafe/restaurant which puports to be Portuguese although there were no Portuguese dishes on the main menu. Nevertheless it was a good menu with many attractive main dishes, soup and sandwiches. The dishes we had were enjoyable. Two of us had smoked salmon sandwiches which was very nice, good bread and lovely salmon. One of us had leek and potato soup, followed by a tuna sandwich both of which were good, finishing with a pastel de nata (the classical Portuguese custard tart) which was very good. The restaurant was busy which indicates that it is popular. The staff were helpful and pleasant, service was good. Reasonably priced food and drink. We have rated this restaurant as very good - good to very good would be more appropriate. We shall definitely go again to try out the other dishes and are more than happy to recommend it to others.

We happened to drive past Caffi Wiwer Goch very early on a Saturday morning on our way to the nearby Llanddwyn Beach, and made a mental note to return a little later for breakfast, as it looked inviting. Upon our return several hours later, we found a handful of locals enjoying their breakfast, all being waited upon by Di, the exceedingly friendly and cheerful front of house, who could not, it appeared, do enough for her clientele. Having ordered our own breakfasts at very reasonable prices, they appeared very speedily. It transpired that a minor mistake with the order was made, but Di sorted it out immediately, and within moments normal service was resumed, and we were even given a complimentary breakfast and drink to make up for it. If one is passing through the village, or indeed passing by anywhere remotely near it, Caffi Wiwer Goch is well worth a visit for good food & good service. Thanks for the review. Particularly thanks for your understanding!I hope you enjoyed your trip to Llanddwyn and Anglesey. Diolch yn fawr Dziękuję

5 of us visited Llanw for lunch on spec. What a find. It’s the sort of space I dream of being able to create. The setting is perfect..long rustic tables with a warning fire surrounded by wildflowers. The menu is exciting, using locally sourced,’ good quality ingredients to createmagical plates. Everything is done with the environment in mind, with a bin to compost your beakers and cups. Our daughter loved the bacon sandwich with gorgeous homemade bread and rhubarb relish and we devouredthe ‘half the garden soup’, again with bread and butter to die for. The Victoria sponge cake was divine too, little sponge jam sandwiches topped off with a light buttercream, a strawberry and bunch of red currants. As you can tell,we’re quite taken with the place and wish its creators all the success they deserve. I wish we lived nearer but we’ll be back as soon as work allows. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to leave such a detailed review of your lunch at Tide/Llanw.We are delighted that you enjoyed it so much, and appreciate the amount of care our talented team put into the food and drinks. We look forward to welcoming you back before too long, work permitting!
