We stumbledon this place in the Campo Widmann. We wanted a cold beer and a good plate of pasta and fewer tourists. The pasta with scallops and artichokes was world-class. The service was from the attentive owner and the campo was almost deserted except for some children playing under the watchfull eye of gramma and occasional Venitians and tourists walking by. Oh, and the beer was cold. An excelent experience all around.

A great spot for simple, homemade local dishes. Bigoli all'Anitra was superb and the carne salá was the best I've tried. Simple selection of seasonal dishes, choice of three colours of wine by the litre and some simple, homemade desserts. Service efficient if not too friendly on the Saturday night we visited. Prices very reasonable considering the quality. Will certainly return.

We returned there after several months, and we found an excellent quality food and friendly yet professional service. Steaks are absolutely top class, especially the fiorentina cut, which MUST be served very rare to fully appreciate its tenderness and amazing taste. Very good veggies and interesting red house-wine.

Consigliata da amici siamo andati in questa trattoria "alla buona" ubicata nel caratteristico paesino di Custoza, con comodo parcheggio attiguo. Nel periodo estivo è possibile mangiare all'aperto.Vi sono due sale, la prima appena dopo la piccola zona bar all'ingresso e un'altra al piano di sotto, che non abbiamo visto. Arredamento datato, molto semplice, un pò triste.Qui non si sceglie, ci hanno servito mezzo polletto a testa, buono, ben cotto, saporito e peperoni rossi e gialli cotti in padella, melanzane fritte veramente squisite, patate al forno. Il tutto accompagnato da vino bianco della casa, a ns. parere, pessimo. Per concludere abbiamo scelto un sorbetto al limone, troppo liquido e soprattutto non freddo......da evitare.Prezzo onesto: ⬠20 a persona.

This restaurant we picked due to good reviews on other sources. The interior looks a little dull, but the people working were very kind and although the restaurant had not yet opened we were welcomed in and served with some beverages. We had read that the Tortellini is great here, so we ordered that and have to admit that this was the best Tortellini I have ever had! It was fresh made with delicious meat filling ... just in one word awesome! As main course we had the steak and fish, both were also great. We just can recommend this place, and found it rather low rated to what we experienced. And as lots of locals popped in for dinner, this must be a good place (always a good indicator).

Everything you could want from an excellent italian dinner with amazing open fire grilled meats. My son is super picky, but scarfed his pancetta pasta in no time and asked for a second course (this never happens). Try the local custoza wine. Our entire bill with multiple courses for three people, water, wine, and soda for the child was still under 60 euro.

it's recommended both by the slow-food guide and the michelen guide, so a must-try for us. we had their home-made dumplings, cold cuts and barbecued mixed meat (chicken, beef steak and sausages). needless to say, excellent food, home-made, fresh and tasty. nice services and very affordable prices (below 10 euros for primo, my mixed meat barbecued plate was just 12 euros, desserts at 4 to 5 euros). can't believe nowsdays such good restaurant still exists..... only two things to note: if using GPS it's at certain point a bit confusing to arrive (need to make sure once you see the sign "santa lucia al monti" drive towards it even the GPS tells you to go straight), second, i ordered a plate of cold cut with salami and italian bacon, as bacon was sold out they gave me all 6 pieces salami, i mean, i would expect they gave me, maybe 3 pieces of salami and 1 slice of raw ham etc etc instead of all 6 pieces of salami...... anyway, not a complaint.
