Namche Bazaar (also Nemche Bazaar or Namche Baza; Nepali: नाम्चे बजार listen (help·info)) is a town and (formally Namche Village Development Committee) in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality in Solukhumbu District of Province No. 1 of north-eastern Nepal. It is located within the Khumbu area at 3,440 metres (11,286 ft) at its low point, populating the sides of a hill. Most Sherpa who are in the tourism business are from the Namche area. Namche is the main trading center and hub for the Khumbu region with many Nepalese officials, a police check, post and a bank.

Walking in on Christmas Eve was a pleasure. Unobtrusive Christmas carols were playing, and when one of our party started singing alone, so did the whole pub. Not long after that, everyone was chatting and partying together. A night to remember. Yes, this is the real deal far from the madding crowd. Closed during the extreme winter months, mind you. They closed up on Boxing day until the start of the trekking season 2019.

Great pub, very pleasant, with great beer and the best music (not too loud, speaking and hearing is possible), plus: - 2 big screens, showing beautiful documentaries about Everest, and sports. - 1 pool table- free wi-fi - free charge of your mobile phone or tablet (bring your plug). - nice temperature inside when outside is freezing cold!!!We went there 3 evenings in a row while in Namche Bazar, and would repeat again every evening!! (note: we didn't eat anything there).
