For the farangs out there that are craving a taste of American bar food, R Lom Dee is the answer to your prayers. It is currently a one man show, with Noppon greeting, cooking, and serving. The menu is limited to about ten items, but that means that everything is excellent. The meatballs are excellent whether eaten on a sub or with spaghetti. The recent addition of a cheesesteak sandwich is another great choice. On Mondays, the charcoal grill is fired up and Pon works his magic on spareribs that are served with classic accompaniments of cole slaw, potato salad, and baked beans (all homemade, of course). The ribs have become legendary in the local community and usually sell out early in the evening. Did I mention the portions? They are BIG. Many diners will take home enough for a second meal. Sandwiches are served with French fries or onion rings. The restaurant is only open for dinner (4:00 PM - 11:00 PM), so don't eat lunch and chow down for dinner at R Lom Dee.

Yes,all eateries are no-frills,but that aside, this joint is the border town's best. Its bustling,with Central & Northern Thai food ,as well as our choice...melt-in-the-mouth Korean BBQ beef and a choice of spicy pork sausages and tasty dry pork curries. We pigged out on meat with aside salad. Once in a while,it forgivable.

A bar with a fantastic beer selection, the best I have seen in Thailand. Also a very good atmosphere, a good mix of eaters and drinkers. A slow but continuous turnover, so I imagine it is on the 'circuit'.Good live entertainment, guitar, female vocal, and a guy sitting on a box and using it as a drum.Last night was our second visit. First time I was given an english language menu, but it's existence was denied last night. First visit I had spaghetti carbonara, which was good. Last night I tried fish and chips, not so good. Fish was fine, but the batter was sweet, chips were cold and it came with a mound of salad that I had specifically requested not to have.Washed down with a couple of bottles of a great german dark beer.Other than that minor disappointment with food, a good night.A venue we will certainly re visit.

Overall, dinner at The Grill Room at the Kantary Hotel was an enjoyable experience. The dining room is beautifully designed and offers elegant dining both indoors, or out. Service was very pleasant and not rushed in any way. All three entrees arrived at the same time, and everything ordered looked very appetizing. My lamb dish was cooked perfectly, and was perfectly tender. Unfortunately however, it, along with the accompanying side dishes, were a little on the cold side. On checking with my dining companions, they also stated both their entrees would have benefited from being a little warmer. It was just warm enough to stop me from returning it to the kitchen, but in hindsight, I should have done, as within a very few minutes it was approaching a level which detracted from the overall enjoyment of the dish. There is a very comprehensive dessert menu, and the Apple Strudel was delicious. We were properly advised this came with a longer preparation time, which we accepted.I am more than happy to award 4 Trip Advisor stars in this case. I do very much want to make a return visit, at which time I'd like to think the temperature problem (as also mentioned in another review) will be addressed. I will be delighted to upgrade to review to 5 stars at that time.I would only like to add that I'd like to see some mid-priced entrees on the menu. A gourmet burger would not be an inappropriate addition for example, and currently nowhere in Korat is offering that. Finally, the staff were spraying something on the nearby unoccupied tables which had a strong, disinfectant type smell which I found most unwelcome while dining. O&D is a fabulous restaurant tucked away in the Soi off the main road to Khon Kaen. It is located in a place called Khok Sung. The atmosphere here is truly special. Not only is the owner extremely friendly, but he makes delicious dishes homemade. Every single dish I've ever tried here has stunned me. The quality, perfection and price make it the best restaurant in Nakhon Ratchasima in my opinion. The owner constantly improves his menu with exciting new dishes which can truly sweep you off your feet. There is also a selection of beers, wines, fruit juices and even cocktails. After staying in Nakhon Ratchasima for while now, I have learned that there are great restaurants out there. However there is only one that takes the top marks and that ladies and gentlemen is O&D.
