I had never been to the Pearl before. When I walked in I thought this looks a great place. Lively atmosphere and a buzz about the place. Unfortunately I didnât really enjoy my meal experience. The poppadoms and pickles were nice so off to a good start. We were a large group of 20. The starters were a mixed platter of samosas, Bhaji and garlic mushrooms. Iâve had better in Aldi. It just appeared to be processed and frozen. The mains of tikka, korma, bhuna and karahi were so unbelievably bland and tasteless. The chicken was not tender either. The rices just appeared to be budget variety. There was quite a bit left over and the waiters werenât allowed to let one of our party take them home in a doggy bag. Eventually they gave in and provided some trays. The drinks were pricey too, £2.75 for a large lemonade. The staff were all very nice but it did come across as mass catering and service. For that reason I wouldnât go again even in a smaller group. Dear ross1979, Thank you for your feedback. We ordered a large meal with extra meat and we received only 4 pieces in total and the manager and the staff tried their very best to lie and convince us that we had more meat than we actually had. Totally unacceptable behaviour from the staff very intimidating and totally unacceptable. I have pictures to prove this and only one member of staff actually apologised for the bad service and poor food. Really terrible experience and not a pleasant at all.

We just had a meal at this wonderful bistro. The staff were excellent suggesting dishes and were not at all pushy. The food was the best we have had for a long time. The whole place is geared to helping the customer enjoy their food. I would have absolutely no hesitation about giving the highest recommendation to this superb eatery.

We really enjoyed our teatime meal here Friendly and helpful waiters Clean and pleasant decoration We both had lovely food. Linda had a really nice chicken dish I really enjoyed a spicy taste spectacular lobster dish leaving a spectacular flavoured tingling tongue. Well and truly the tastiest flavoured curry

Eight people, we were greeted by friendly staff who looked after us. A reasonable selection of beverages, wonderful selection of foods, all the foods we chose were very tasty, we had seven different dishes, papadums with a selection of sauces and mixes, nan bread and samosas for starters. My Madras was quite spicy, very tasty with plenty of meat. Good selection of desserts.

Only ever heard great things about the Swaadesh so last night a group of ten of us ventured in, We really wasn't to be disappointed & was treated like royalty from the moment we arrived, actually reminded me of the scene from coming to America when Rose petals were sprinkled on the floor wherever the young Prince went, that's how much the waiters looked after you. Another bonus was taking your own alcohol which always helps save the pennies. No corkage charge either so yet again another result.Regarding the food I have to say I've travelled just about all four corners of our wonderful planet and spent quiet a lengthy amount of time in India/Bangladesh in my younger days, I lived off all the top street food stalls in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata & Hyderabad for near on 18 months and the Swaadesh beats all of those hands down. We all chose different dishes and we were blown away by the quality. It's just little things that makes it special too, extra orange segments and chocolate sweets for everyone at the end. It truly is a wonderful place to eat and I'm in no doubt the number one curry house not only in tameside but in the Northwest.If there was one negative to take from the night which I'd hope the management will address, I had nowhere to hang my coat up.Many thanksCraig/Shane and the gang xHello Craig, appreciate your kind words and comments. Come here a lot with family and Christmas time, family tradition and new additions to the family, itâs imperative for it!! Usually the Christmas time, as busy as it is itâs usually perfect for us, very friendly and accommodating but when it comes to take out it changes completely, rude staff, no attentive to their customers and very poor quality food.We will remain for Christmas as itâs our tradition but not to sure about take out as the food has dropped and the quality isnât the best.Hope to see improvements.

I use to love this place but tonight we were very disappointed. The place was really busy and the service was quick. But the food just seemed to lack flavour. My daughter ordered a coffee and when it arrived the milk/ cream was clearly off. Large lumps came out when she poured it . The waiter removed it and replaced it straight away but it really should not have been served like that. A couple of young waiters seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy the place was and tried to clear our plates while we were still eating then one came and asked if we were ready for our main meals even though he had cleared our plates a few minutes before.
