This elegant restaurant had great food and great service. The seating was comfortable, service congenial, and enjoyably for us, not smokey from cigarettes as were many other restaurants. The Wiener schnitzel and roast beef dishes were excellent and quite reasonably priced. We would definitely visit this restaurant again.Dear guest,thank you for your lovely feedback. After several days eating mainly Italian this restaurant being beside our hotel made a very nice change. Not to mention no driving required.More Germanic, food was excellent especially the steak, staff were great and the atmosphere was good under canvas.Thoroughly recommended

Vom Steinegger aus kann man herrlich wandern, die Eislöcher sind z.B. gut erreichbar.Fantastisch ist der Blick von der Panoramaterasse. Auch für eine kurze Rast wird man hier gut und nett bewirtet.Die Speisen sind im Preis etwas höher aber von bester Qualität, dieBedienung ist flott und freundlich. Alleine für den panoramablick eine echte Empfehlung.

Oberhalb von Kaltern, in der kleinen Ortschaft Oberplanitzing, befindet sich der Speckkeller der Familie Sölva. Das Haus aus dem 16. Jhd. ist von Weingärten umgeben, die Vater und Sohn bewirtschaften.Der Keller ist eine urige und gemütliche Jausenstation, in der neben dem Hauswein auch Produkte aus der Landwirtschaft angeboten werden. Die Mutter steht in der Küche und zaubert herzhafte Gerichte, wie z.B. Schlutzkrapfen, Knödel-Tris, Gulasch oder Kaiserschmarren. Neben den warmen Gerichten gibt es auch verschiedenste kalte Jausenspezialitäten.Der eigene Wein kann ruhig mit Erzeugnissen renommierter Winzer mithalten, wie z.B. der Lagreiner Barrique oder der Cabernet Sauvignon.Wer einen tollen Weinkeller mit bodenständiger südtiroler Küche sucht, der ist im Speckkeller bestens aufgehoben.Die Jausenstation ist von Ostern bis Ende Juni und im Zeitraum August bis Mitte November von 18 bis 24 Uhr geöffnet (kein Ruhetag).

It was a bit rainy the day we stopped here on our drive through the vineyards of Kaltern, South Tyrol in Italy. From the road it's a bit inconspicuous, but I'm sure it's very popular. The biergarten appears to be the home to lots of events. I can imagine that it rocks. I can't say much about the food. We stopped just to have a drink and were delighted to discover they offer a gluten-free beer. I had two. What impressed me was how professional the staff is. They were all out drying the tables and benches and chairs when it stopped raining. They were friendly and attentive.
