Located at one side of the central Menelik square of Djibouti City, this restaurant is a good option for pizzas, pastas and Ethiopian cuisine. With its two floors, has a bar downstairs and restaurant upstairs. A bit overpriced but common in Djibouti. Offers AC that is very convenient. Smoking is allowed.

I went over there three days ago, by night and I was surprised to experience something completely different of what a former client said on tripadvisor. The place is just oustanding! The decoration is so cosy, there's a beautiful atmosphere, dim light, reggae music, good service! People were nice...And I have to correct something, No insects or bugs or whatever else than a delicious fish an fried vegetables in my plate! Anyway, i am advising it to anybody who's eager to enjoy a calm and relaxing night with good music and delicious dishes!

We had a lovely meal outside at the shore. We started with an exceptional salad of prawns, mango, and avocado, followed by Yemeni fish.

This is a great place to eat Ethiopian food with a traditional Ethiopian atmosphere. The food is very good and reasonably priced. I normally get regular tibs when eating Ethiopian food, which is done in a sauce with onion and tomatoes. However; I really liked the Zen-Zen Tibs that are dry. Great people and friendly service. They are now open for lunch too.

We are here with friends one evening during our visit in Djibouti. The food was quite good - although they were out of the goat tibce and there was a mixup in communication about that. The beef was good and the part of the platter I tried was excellent too. One thing - there is a metal roof over part of the terrace and it may have feral cats sitting above - just make sure that you are under the roof. Also the bathroom is a bit rustic. Don't let this dissuade you though because the food and experience are really quite good.

We happened onto this place while exploring the waterfront, and ended up going back for a second night later in the week. Very nice facility, tables on the water all the way around. Excellent service. Food was very good, nicely presented, and priced less than some of the less nice restaurants in the European quarter. The menu has small fish, medium fish, and large fish but they were out of one or more of the sizes both nights we were there. The fish kabobs were delicious.Dear Our Esteemd Customer,Thank you for taking the time to write your comments on your recent experience at Kuriftu Restaurant and Lounge, Djibouti! We are pleased to know that you have had a wonderful experience and enjoyeddine with us and I look forward to your return.Regards,Mahad EguehOperations DirectorKuriftu Restaurant and Lounge, Djibouti.

Took one look at the menu and walked out. More expensive than London, bottled beer about $5.66 ! The Ethiopian platter comes in at $33 . Seriously, if you are a big group, catch a flight to Ethiopia and pay 1/6 the price. Why is Djibouti so pricey?BTW, bottled beer is half the price a minute's walk away at Casa Nova restaurant, where the locals hang out.
