Trattoria Marsupino

We were warmly welcomed and given a small but very interesting regional menu with sweet bread, grilled Oz and baby goat. All were excellent haut cuisine well complimented with a fantastic wine selection. Staff spoke good English. Prices were very reasonable and the service was first class.

Osteria Quattro Stagioni

Historical Osteria in Mondovì Breo, the Quattro Stagioni, completely renewed in March 2007, offers the possibility of tasting the typical Piedmontese specialities at lunch and dinner every day except on Monday. The disposition of the tables in the unique comfortable diningroom, which is quiet and capacious at the same time, is suitable for "work lunch", quiet dinners and a halting-place for tourist groups. The excellent Piedmontese beef, the pork and the ovine meat, which are utilised come from selected butcher's shop; the vegetables and the aromatic herbs come from the local farmers; the eggs and the cheese come from farmers and dairymen living in the surrounding valley and the pasta is rigorously hand-made.

I had the chance of having few dinners at Quattro Stagioni during a stay in a guesthouse nearby called Mondovi Ridente. The restaurant is true to the local dedication to good food and I enjoyed the experience. There are more thrilling places in and around Mondovi (Marsupino is an example) but there's nothing wrong trying this one. Their beef dishes are marvels.

Good place to stay near Mondovi. Clean, lovely staff. Rooms are ample size with a well stocked fridge. Good bathroom with good supply of hot water to the shower.
Breakfast was ample - lots of cake but also meats, cheese, boiled eggs and toast.
The dinner in the restaurant - really needs no recommendations - the amount of people that go there, it speaks for itself. I lost count after dish number 7 was served. I don't eat meat and they were more than accommodating.

Cantine Bonaparte

Reviewed By Ninariedel - Bad Camberg, Germany

It is a beauteful restaurant in the middle of Mondoví with tasty food. Unfortunately that's everything! We have been there with six people and were very disappointed of the bad service. The time between the dishes was so long that we haven't been hungry anymore!!! Furthermore we had to remember the service staff several times to bring our beverages. It seems to us that they prefer italian guests more than international.

Michelis is a pasta factory, they product pasta, cookies, bread and some other food... Near the factory you can find a tiny restaurant (6/7 tables) with every day different dishes in menu..
Choice is limited day by day, but taste and product quality is excellent.. every day you can choose from 3 different pasta dishes or meet.. I suggest you to try a taste of all pasta (in one dish).. and try "Paste di meliga" ... good and special cookies... price isn't low but not too expensive.

Croce d'Oro

Reviewed By Giuanin - Mondovi, Italy

This trattoria is well known in the Mondovì area for its local cuisine which is served family style. We brought a friend of ours who was visiting from the US to Croce d'Oro for lunch. There are several courses of traditional antipasti, a choice of a couple of different pasta dishes and meats and of course, dessert. All was going well until our friend started to eat his gnocchi and bit into a big piece of metal and cut his mouth. We immediately called over the owner who said.. "Don't worry, it is just a piece of the metal scrubber we use to clean the potatoes." No apologies. The worst part is that the owner insisted that we pay for the gnocchi even though our friend rightfully refused to eat anything further. With an ingnorant, arrogant owner like this, I don't care how good the food may be. We will NEVER set foot in Croce d'Oro again.

On our way from Liguria to Alba we stopped in this lovely, traditional Osteria. It was 5pm and the lunch time was long gone but the super-friendly Signore opened the restaurant for us nevertheless. And they prepared us a truly marvellous meal of typical simple Piemonte style. This was out second visit and we will definitely return

This is a very traditional place, where you get the set menu with no choice. The waitresses are very friendly and efficient. We had about 4 small antipasti starters, a pasta dish, a meat dish, dessert, coffee and wine (1 bottle) for 3 people. 45 euros !

The San Marco restaurant, nestled in the Chocolate Museum and the Cioccolocanda will allow you to savor the best cuisine of Piedmont contaminated cocoa. It is a unique structure, where everything revolves around the theme of cocoa and strong aromas will lead you in the extraordinary journey that will show you the steps of processing of cocoa and Silvio Bessone passion for the food of the Gods! Really interesting offering of sweets and the infinite range of tablets, chocolate and chocolate products on site. A unique experience where you can also (by reservation) and pastry cooking classes and visit the Chocolate Factory by Silvio Bessone.

We drove over an hour to get here and it was well worth it. Silvio the owner and chef is a genius when it comes to food and chocolate. His ability to create food with chocolate is amazing, he is an artist. Besides all that he is very friendly and welcoming. Everything from the bread to the dessert were delicious and one of a kind. I can't say enough on how much we enjoyed ourselves here ....
So if you're in Italy make the effort to go here and eat. Also the town is really amazing too.
Grazie Silvio for an Amazing experience.
