Hotel Boutique Casa Madero

At Hotel Boutique Casa Madero will live an unforgettable lodging experience surrounded by an atmosphere of exclusivity and attention. The property is a beautiful mansion built in the nineteenth century, where it has mixed with the modern colonial architecture resulting in a location with spaces that encourage rest and relaxation. The serenity of its ambience is ideal for those seeking a stay full of comforts and a careful personal attention.

Good option but it still needs a twist.

Located just across the Tarascas Fountain, this boutique hotel has a lot of potential to be a great one, but it falls short in service and amenities. Offered breakfast is plain, and service is not good. Staff (except Don Vicente) is really not eager to help, and they do not seem to care of you are being attended right (which is really what you would expect in a boutique hotel). Also rooms lack of amenities, as well as the linens are “tired”. But it is really well located within 3/4 of a mile of Morelia’s cathedral, and with a very traditional mexican design with contemporary Architecture.

A wonderful week in Morelia

Reviewed By Marcy K

We stayed at Casa Xola for a full week during our first trip to Morelia. Our stay enhanced our experience and it was such a great spot to return to each day after being out on adventures around Morelia. We stayed in the Terrace Room which is right off a shared roof top patio space and shared open air living room and kitchen space. Our room also had it’s own private patio space which we used on occasion as well, but the shared space on the roof top has a beautiful view over the neighboring roof tops and out to the mountains in the back ground that is wonderful. Lots of flowers and hummingbirds not to mention a cat now and then or a short visit from Maki her sweet small dog. The whole space that Arleigh has created is relaxing and beautiful. She gave us some great recommendations, and we had enjoyable conversations at the breakfast she graciously provided each day. I highly recommend Casa Xola if you are looking for something unique and special for your stay in Morelia. We will be back!

Gorgeous Hotel built in Traditional Syle

This is a beautiful hotel, built with great attention to detail. Our suite was spacious, impeccably clean, and wonderfully decorated. The staff was over the top with service. My partner has mobility issues and the grounds are steep and uneven in places. The staff was always attentive and ready to assist him. We would go back without hesitation!

This small hotel is a JEWEL! The grounds were lush and beautiful and extremely well kept. The mineral springs were so picturesque and lovely for a dip in the lukewarm water that was full of minerals. The mountain backdrop and river below were stunning as was the cave formations and the waterfall hike. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the trails and birding was exceptional here as well. I only wish I had longer to stay and explore, I recommend at least 1 full day to explore the property and trails. This hotel amenities and food are basic but location - amazing!

Casona Rosa

Casona Rosa, like Morelia itself, creates the mood of being both ancient and eternal. We are a few short blocks from the main street Av. Madero, and Morelia's famous pink cathedral, and the main Plaza de Armas. Our single family 2-story home with a 3-rd floor terrace, with gorgeous views of Morelia, overlooks the lush and charming Jardín de la Soterraña. Casona Rosa is a romantic, intimate place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Morelia is the world class UNESCO world heritage Colonal capital city of Michoacan. We are in the heart of Colonia Centro, hence our motto: "Casona Rosa, the soul of Colonial Mexico in the heart ofUNESCO Morelia". Yes, we accept dogs and we are 1 of the very few in Colonia Centro to do so. Much attention was paid to decorating the house with locally made art and handcrafts. Check out our Facebook page (Casona Rosa, Morelia) and the FB group page 'The Magic of Michoacan' for updates on the latest Casona Rosa, Morelia and local happenings. Enjoy and "Viva la vida!"

Wow...what a deal this place is! It is just 1 block from Plaza Chica where the collectivos drop in town. The family staff is super nice. The gardenesqe patio and sitting area are awesome (I am enjoying it right now with a cold Indio). And the price...terrific...$35 USD /nt for two beds. And, those beds...as good as any at a $150/nt hotel. I would recommend this place 110%.

Very poor service and we haven’t even stayed there

Reviewed By salemlake

My wife (who is a native speaker) called yesterday evening to make a reservation for our 15 anniversary. Marta answered the phone, asked a minimum of 7 times what our days were, I asked for a particular room and she put me on hold again and again and again...we were on hold (hearing voices and movement in the background) over 30 minutes...after she hung up and I called back. After finally confirming availability for days, price and room we requested, we gave her our credit card number. She said she would send confirmation via WhatsApp. We have yet to receive confirmation. I called tonight and have been on hold over 24 minutes (again hearing voices and movement in background). If this is the service they offer when making a reservation, we shudder to think what service we will receive once we arrive. It has now been 28 minutes and no one has come to the phone. We can’t even ask for the manager. Ulysses finally came to the phone...doesn’t know who I was talking to “a reservation came in and they were very busy”...while I’ve been sitting waiting We are trying to cancel any reservation we may have, want to make sure we are not charged but now Ulysses is gone and we are still waiting (34 minutes and counting) Dameris (Manager) came on phone and also hung up on me VERY BAD SERVICE DO NOT GO...is it just that they have very bad service or DO THEY NOT WANT AMERICANS.

Booked 7 months in advance and received confirmation. Arrived and was told my room was cancelled. It's day of the dead week fgs good luck getting a room. They gave me 4 days of 7. The head lady was not friendly or apologetic. Was terse ànd stern.the rate I was given online was perhaps not inline with the high demand over dia Los Muertos?. I was told the rooms were blocked and none were available. I was told it was cancelled the day afte I booked it. I was told I was sent notification. After I said I did not receive any, I was told it was sent twice. Odd?? I received the confirmation fine but no cancellation. I was able to find a private apartment. Thankful for friends! Was not offered an apology or assistance of any kind. The bed was quite hard and the pillows felt like they have plastic or vinyl liners. Bottled water was provided on my last day not otherwise. Good location, not sound proof from other rooms but street noise was minimal. Nice roof patio. Friendly night staff and cleaner. Would I stay here again? No.
