Too hot and outdated...
Reviewed By MarcoB1976I have been here twice in two weeks for 3/4 days at a time between the end of July and the beginning of August 2013. I was given two different apartments for the two stays. For the sake of clarity, this review is for the Jolly Residence apartments that are a little detached from where the offices--and other accommodations--are. These apartments are on a side street that goes down to the Calanca Beach. I opted for the Jolly Residence because I didn't want to drive, and it's true that the apartments are less than five minutes from the beach, but Calanca Beach was way too crowded and impossible to enjoy. I guess it's because it's attached to the city of Marina di Camerota, so people can get there by foot. Anyway, I ended up driving every day, but it wasn't a big deal after all (5 minutes drive takes you to the wonderful Mingardo Beach). The apartments are reasonably clean and well-located but there is no way you can let a little air in. In both apartments there was only one fan, but I asked both times to have a second one and they granted it. Although, in the first case, it was in a box and I had to assemble it myself. No kidding! I didn't even have a screwdriver and I used a kitchen knife. You wouldn't be able to sleep without a fan directed right on your body. Apart from that... - In the second apartment, the shower head came off and had to be repaired. It didn't take long. - During the first stay I asked for a hairdryer. They said they only had one and someone had already borrowed it and never returned it. - The staff was always very friendly and willing to help. On one occasion, though, I kept calling the whole afternoon and they never picked up. The least that they could do is set up an answering machine and call you back. On the up side: - It's very close to the town of Marina di Camerota and it's easy to go there for a walk and a gelato every night. - Their restaurant serves very very good food and the atmosphere is really nice. The waiters are also quite good.

Reviewed By JennajuliaPool was nice but service was slow when we ordered drinks. Internet is slow and only works in the restaurant area, but that seems to be the thing in Italy. Bed was horrible! You can feel every string in the mattress and it’s very hard. Staff was friendly but staying here is not worth the money.

The tourist Residence "Torre delle Viole" is waiting for you at Marina di Camerota: it was opened in 1999 and is plunged in the mediterranean vegetation, amid secular olive-trees, in a privileged area between sea and the town. It faces on the bay of Calanca, 100 metres far from a sandy beach which is framed by reefs and overlooked by the tower of violets, one of the bulwarks which were built by the feudatories of Camerota to prevent attacks of Saracens. In a few minutes you can reach the town, where you can find bars, shops, restaurants, moving pictures and sporting establishments. The Residence offers an agreeable stay for guests who wish to enjoy limpid sea and to find out a new beach every day, small roads, indented cliffs. It can be the ideal point of departure to explore a country full of ancient history and multiform sceneries, from the Tyrrhenian sea to the elevations of Bulgheria and Cervati. A territory which offers wonderful mental pictures and a gastronomy which is worth tasting.
Close to the beach in Cilento seaside town

Unfortunately the airconditioning did not work, and it is really too hot there to sleep comfortably without. It was very very noisy late in the evening until the early hours of the morning: loud people in the buildings above and below, animazione and live music from all the campgrounds closeby. However, the grounds of Torre del Viole are lovely and very well-kept, the beach is easily accessible by a small hiking path and our hostess Antonia was very sweet and helpful. It is a nice place to have a holiday if you don’t mind a very lively Italian scene around you...

Being a guest in Le Anthos is like a family, a nice family. Wonderful view, exceptional home-made food and great surroundings. Who could wish for more? * * * In vita mia ho visitato 65 paesi e oltre 600 città ma mai - dico mai - ho trovato una accoglienza così calda e umana come da Salvatore e Anna. Soggiornare da loro è come stare in famiglia, in una bella famiglia. Vista meravigliosa, cibo fatto in casa e dintorni eccezionali. Che dire di più?

Il B&B La Menaica nasce nel Giugno del 2012 grazie alla ristrutturazione della casa di famiglia. L'abitazione e' situata nella zona panoramica di Marina di Camerota, offre camere posizionate al primo piano dello stabile dotate di terrazzino vista mare dove e' possibile consumare la prima colazione ammirando l'affascinante centro cittadino. Il B&B La Menaica e' composto da 3 camere, completamente ristrutturate e arredate in stile marino, esse portano il nome di alcune spiagge tra le piu' rinomate e belle di Marina di Camerota: Infreschi - Cala Bianca - Pozzallo La prenotazione della camera oltre alla colazione include nel prezzo: aria condizionata, frigo in camera, asciugacapelli, cambio biancheria da letto e da bagno ogni 3 gg, wifi, tea and coffee facilities, parcheggio in proprieta' privata e (per pernottamenti settimanali durante i periodi estivi) il servizio spiaggia presso lo stabilimento balneare "Lido aruba Club". Vi garantiamo un soggiorno INDIMENTICABILE !!!
Charming, convenient, and felt like being in our own home
Reviewed By Andrew SLa Menaica has everything we needed for a perfectly relaxing week in Marina di Camerota. A huge thanks to Valeria and Raffaele who have everything running so smoothly so that all you we needed to think about was what time we wanted to wake up and get to the beach :)! The room has a nice little balcony with a view out over the sea, and every morning there is a large self-serve breakfast which is layed out in the common area, which you can then bring back to have looking out at the water. Everything is perfectly clean, beds made up each day, air conditioning, etc. In a small but touristy town like Marina, a huge bonus is also the free parking lot, and even more importantly the free voucher for a shuttle to the beach for the entire time we were there. We have tried parking ourselves in the past at the beach and it is a nightmare, so this was a huge weight lifted off our shoulders every day. There are so many b and b, hotels etc, in a beach town like Marina di Camerota, and it is really a pleasure to find a gem like la Menaica where you really feel like there is someone in the background who really cares about the guest experience. This is sincerely what we felt with Valeria and Raffaele at la Menaica, and we can't wait to come back!
