Tolmie suffers from being too close to larger centres such as Mansfield, hence it's tough attracting business. However when a small "bush pub" can put on a great band with no cover charge, and supply good pub basic meals at reasonable prices and also stock and sell local wines at great low prices, then the management here are doing all the right things to make this a unique, out of the way destination worth heading to.

The Mansfield Hotel is situated in the popular high country of Victoria. The Hotel boasts a large bistro with a very well known beer garden covered by a large oak tree. The menu is expansive and complemented by the fantastic meals and reasonable pricing.

Friendly staff. Cannot get a coffee at the bar. Only when restaurant is open and that is for limited hours in the day. Specials on a blackboard. Reasonably priced. Menu very focussed on meat so difficult to get a veggie meal. Had a pizza and staff willing to make it to order. Was told it was “unusual” and the “weirdest ever made”. Seriously? Onion, capsicum, mushroom? Nice beer garden area. Bathrooms okay. All looks a little rundown.

Quite a busy cafe - both in patronage and decoration. The baguettes were tasty and filling and my salad was quite nice. The coffees were good but apparently the Iced Chai had too much honey. My wife and I stopped for lunch and, faced with a number of choices, were influenced by the number of awards credited to this establishment. I love a chunky beef pie and most seem to emanate from country Victorian bakeries. We were not disappointed and i can recommend the chunky beef pies to everyone. The service is good and the range of other lunchtime offerings is extensive if you prefer something other than a pastry.

Stopped here for some pizza after a long Australia Day driving around Mt.Stirling. The girls were really friendly, service fast and pizzas on a quality tasty base with fresh toppings.

Yay.. sticks is open again.. and the menu is as good as ever.. the pork and prawn salad was delicious.. caramelized pork was soooo yum..
For main i had the chilli chicken.. oh how amazing those flavours were.. stuart and Ilena well done on a delicious menu.. cant wait to come back for more.. ill be sure to book though you were pretty busy!!!
Amazing they have extended the front area into more Seating with an amazing garden and rock wall. Wow guys you never stop. Thanks again for an outstanding experience.
