Wonderful Soldanella
Reviewed By John WJust back from a week in the beautiful ski resort of Madesimo in Italy. We stayed at the Soldanella hotel which is ideally situated in the centre of the village opposite the Gondola. I cannot praise Barbara, her family and her staff too highly as they go out of their way to ensure their guests have a wonderful experience. The rooms are immaculately kept with bathrooms of the highest standard. The food is superb with the Pizzoccherie starter and Apple Strudel dessert exceptional. You cannot possibly leave hungry as the staff always offer more if you want. Everyone smiles and the atmostphere is just so engaging. Cannot wait to go back next year.

The La Meridiana Hotel, a traditional mountain Hotel situated in the town centre, a perfect location offering fine views. Surrounded by white valleys there are 20 ski lifts, for a total of 60 KM of ski-runs and you ski back to our front door. For those who prefer cross country there is a ring of 5 KM. During the summer time there are endless walks.25 rooms each with private bathrooms, hair-drier, safe-box and telephone, wellness center and covered garage.

Reviewed By thomasnB7990BVStayed here for one night. Very friendly staff. The location does not get any better right next to the lift. The hotel has a carpark underneath the lift so very convinient. Rooms were small but comfortable. Highly recommend staying here

Great experience in the helpful Hotel
Reviewed By Lars PWe spent a week at Albergo K2 with great food, excellent service and a very helpful owner. Our bags were lost on our flight to Milan and we did not received them during our stay. The Hotel owner helped us alot to make sure that we still were able to go skiing. The location of the hotel right next to the slopes was great. This was our second time at K2 and we will gladly come back another year.

Reviewed By IKO73I just stopped over (many times) while skiing and I must recommend this place; the service is very quick, even when the joint is packed in high season (winter-time); I had typical dishes (pizzoccheri, polenta taragna with sausage, etc) and never regretted it. You can also have a very nice spritz with some ham and cheese.

Reviewed By caeryncA fabulous stay. A warm welcome always awaits (this is our 4th stay) the staff are always very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. The food is spectacular and the hotel is spotless. The spa and pool are a welcome relaxing break from the slopes. Very family friendly and well located. Cannot fault this hotel!

NIce hotel but overpriced
Reviewed By mk0menThe hotel is clean and close to the ski slopes but for a 4 star hotel a bit poor. The spa is nice!! The atmosphere is friendly with a good service. The Michelin star restaurant is cosy and the wine list is oké! But..... the food is very overpriced. Although there are good courses, in general there is a lack of taste and some courses even have a very bad taste (for example the steamed squid with polenta arrrggggg, the potatoesoup and the starter with ricotta (no taste at all). Some courses are too simple with poor ingredients. Fot this level not good enough and far overpriced.

Reviewed By ldwldw68Great, cosy rooms - well ours was more like an apartment. Spacious, very clean and in a wonderful location in the centre of Madesimo near all ski lifts! The service from Athos and his staff, as well as the food, was fabulous. Highly recommend!

VERY NICE ACCOMMODATIONS IN SKI COUNTRY
Reviewed By GTJack71My wife and I spent 8 nights at the Albergo Mangusta in Isola, Italy which lies between Madesimo and Campodolcino. Isola is a very small village with little services, but the great value and the incredible staff of Albergo Mangusta will make you want to stay there and come back. Mangusta is owned and operated by sisters Ebe and Olga. Immediately they make you feel like family and take pride in their hotel. Cleanliness is taken to a different level there. Accommodations are simple but effective and rates are quite reasonable given its location in the heart of ski country. Mangusta has a restaurant, and there is only one other restaurant in Isola, but each operates outside of the winter months. However, Campodolcino, Pianazzo and Madesimo have excellent restaurants, and it takes about 10 minutes to drive to either. Remember that these are alpine roads which requires some patience. From Mangusta views of the mountains and the small lake in Isola are beautiful. During snow season the big hill next to Mangusta is snow covered and the locals really enjoy sledding down the hill. Serious skiing in Madesimo or Campodolcino is 10 minutes or so away. Caution: parking in Madesimo is a serious issue, particularly on weekends. We really enjoyed our stay at Mangusta and look forward to the next trip there.

Reviewed By AcemumblesGreat one bedroom apartment with a wrap around balcony.Views were stunning from both elevations.Hot water was a bit of a problem at peak times, but we just waited for it to get a little hotter!Kitchenette was great fridge,cooker and dishwasher. The lady on reception was just great, really friendly.Ski in and out.Great value and would definitely recommend.
