Can you please have a specific cut off time for breakfast? To arrive the same time we normally arrive for breakfast to be told it’s ‘too late’ this week doesn’t seem fair. Whilst all customers are important, we are locals that turn up in the winter, whatever the weather & always at the same time. To be fair, my party that could cope with eating lunch the food was excellentDear JAB531Sorry to hear about the breakfast service on this specific date. We do serve breakfast until 11.45am however on exceptionally busy days to ensure the efficient running of the lunch service we sometimes have to stop service earlier. We try to accommodate all our customers especially during busy periods.Kindest regardsVictoriaMarketing Manager

We went for lunch on Sunday to celebrate a birthday. We arrived early but the team were completely unfazed. Food was excellent; service was exemplary and prices fair (not cheap: fair). Everything was superb with the exception of parking which is always a bit tricky here.............

Despite the awful weather today a delightful visit to this cafe. Stunning views, attentive staff, lovely food. The best thing I liked was the 100% removal of everything on the table, then cleaned including the chairs, crumbs from floor as well. Dont even get that in the Premier inn we are staying at.Thank you for your 5* review Afternoon tea served at Cliffhanger whatever the weather is always a winner!Really pleased you had a thoroughly enjoyable time at Cliffhanger and enjoyed the lovely food and looked after by attentive staff..Hopefully see you in the dryer weather. We’ve got lots planned for Christmas not only our evening tribute nights but breakfast with Santa plus a Choir on two Sunday afternoons in December all dished up with our superb Christmas lunch menu..

Recommended to us by locals and we were not disappointed. Easy to find, easy to park (free) and easy to enjoy with such good food and service. We pre-booked a window table for 6 which proved sensible even for the first day of October as the restaurant was quite busy. Ringwood bitter (£4.10/pint) was well kept and full of hops. Some of our party opted for the sandwiches (all priced at (£10 with chips) with crayfish and marie rose sauce very popular. More adventurous chose Mussels with garlic cream sauce (£12.50 for starter size and no chips) were sensational. Large plump flesh, perfectly cooked so still sweet and moist with a delicate cream sauce served with crusty white bread. Outstanding dish!!

A nice lunch with an old family friend who is a local resident and has eat at Pebble beach many times before. Great atmosphere, nice decor and attentive service. My wife and our friend shared a smoked duck which was beautifully presented and plenty for two. I had the tempura prawns with home made chutney and a spicy tomato sauce. The sauce was superfluous but the prawns and chutney were delicious. I had fish and chips which was nice but the batter a touch under done, my wife and our friend had filet steak which was perfectly cooked and very nice and for pud we had two tiramisu and a choux pastry and ice cream desert which was very nice. Overall nice meal and for that reason I would recommend the Pebble beach for lunch and for dinner too!)

We went for dinner on Sat. 31st Aug. & was just after being seated we were informed by the landlady to order immediately as they were very busy and we would experience a delay - we ordered only main courses which were average, just pub food, nothing special. Our biggest problem was the incident on the next table between a smart elderly gentlemen, dining with his wife & two young ladies, who appeared to be waiting a very long time for their main meal. He was repeatedly reassured by waitresses that they were sorry but it was a busy evening, it would appear that after a considerable time (we had been served and finished our meal) he went in search of the landlady, eventually resorting to approaching the kitchen to see if she was there. The landlady stormed out of the kitchen and was unbelievably rude to the gentleman, ordering him to sit down, no apologies for the long wait, just giving him verbal abuse, she even stated she was extremely proud of her 2 chefs for completing over 100 covers that evening, to which the gentleman replied if you can't cope with bookings, then don't be so greedy and turn parties away.No reply she just stormed off!Having since informed a number of previous diners of our experience the general consensus is the landlady is certainly not pleasant and at times a nasty piece of work - enough said!Hello, Thank you for your feed back regarding the food, we are sorry you feel underwhelmed and hope you would try us again some time in the future. Regarding the ‘incident’ on the nearby table I’m not sure why you’d feel the need to make comment. Yes the restaurant was incredibly busy, we has been fully booked for nearly 2 weeks and our head chef had been called away for a family emergency on that day, leaving our sous chef and a new trainee Comi chef to deal with a full capacity double booked service at last notice, the food delays were explained and we did our best to deal with it and get the food out as quickly as possible with the quality to the best we could manage in the circumstance. The gentleman you mention who marched into the kitchen shouting and screaming his head off at the sous chef and other staff about the wait on his food, who then continued to do so in the restaurant when asked to leave the kitchen was totally out of order, that isn’t remotely acceptable behaviour in any respect or establishment, even if you have been waiting longer than expected, ironically his tables food was next on the pass to be served once he sat back down. The land lady tried to appease the situation with him as civilly as possible given how he was talking to us. Making assertions of the land lady’s character in a public domain based on this incident really isn’t a fair reflection. This was an incredibly challenging night in very one off circumstance, I hope you decide to try us again as it really isn’t reflective of how we are at our pub, we genuinely care about every table and every plate of food, the most disappointing thing is the gentleman you speak of has been in many many times in the past. We opted for the highly-recommended 6-course option for a birthday lunch and were NOT disappointed. The food was both interesting and delicious, served by knowledgable friendly staff with a well judged pace. The whole meal was exceptional value for money considering the extremely high quality and professional attention to detail. Wine was also very good (albeit expensive as always) and every plate was virtually licked clean. Verveine was an excellent discovery to which we shall undoubtedly return - and soon!
