Great restaurant with pleasant staff (if you speak Portuguese) and the food is welcomed after a week of hotel slops. Wide variety and the prices, whilst steep, are lower than most hotel menus. recommend the beef Rib and the Chinese Cabbage. I found that 3 mains does two people comfortably and you wont leave felling hungry. I of course had three mains on my own thinking that the portion sizes would be smaller, and left absolutely stuffed to capacity.

Chez Wou was one of my favourite restaurants in the early 2000's - unfortunately it has gone down hill since then.The special Whole Fish and Whisky Flambéed Bananas was a hit.The service is still quick - but the food quality has been disappointing.

The restaurant is located on the Ilha overlooking the sea. It has two levels for seating. There is access to the beach from the restaurant. The staff is friendly and some understand English. Point and order works as well.The menu is available in English with photos of all dishes alongside. The fried tofu and green beans are excellent. Most of the dishes are oil and spicy. Chicken with sweet corn and the fried fish were good too. Portions are large and meant to be shared.Prices are mid range and cost between 6000-10,000kwz pp with tips.
