El Pescador offers a wide variety of foods inspired by Spanish, Basque and Creole cuisine. Its specialty is seafood paella, but the menu also features a delicious selection of fish and seafood such as crab, shrimp, conch, octopus and squid.Behind the colonial style building lies an open-air patio, where delicious pizzas prepared in a wood fired oven are sure to please children and adults alike.A cosy atmosphere and great prices set us apart from the competition. For a dining experience you are sure to remember, visit us at El Pescador.--------------------------------------El Pescador ofrece una amplia variedad gastronomica con influencias de la cocina espanola, vasca y criolla. Another great beach-side eatery. This is in the row of fabulous food from the European cuisine. The atmosphere is perfect for meeting friends for a calm dinner with a variety of dishes. This of was another top restaurant our Realtor recommended. Great atmosphere.

El Cabito is an eco-friendly business, perched on the cliffs of Cabo Cabron, overlooking the spectacular Rincon Bay. It is a place where nature speaks for itself, and where one can feel a natural radiation of energy. Our vision for El Cabito is to create a place of tranquility and serenity, where people can unwind from a hectic lifestyle and connect with nature. Our strategically located restaurant and accommodations contribute to this unique experience. We have designed a number of flexible accommodation options to meet everyone's budget.
A unique and stunning location; Perched on a cliff with the frequent sound of a blow-hole nearby. Prices are high by DR standards however the location and ambiance are special.
LOCATION
You might make this in a standard saloon if experienced and careful in these rocky dirt road conditions. I was fine in an SUV rental. It would be a long walk. It's located in a sort if farm/eco hut sort of place. Parking is good. If using the MAPS.ME application the location and route is spot-on.
FOOD
All fine. The Paella is spectacular. Espresso was great.

Bar and Restaurant, pizza, fish, meat, ice cream etc. Popular with tourists, reasonable price, good food. On main street, between La Pescador and le Tainos (and a couple of other restaurants not listed on Trip Advisor)
There are slim pickings in Las Galeras during low season. Many of the restaurants are closed. L'Aventura de John was open! The Margarita pizza is quite good, not a thin crust pizza and maybe a little too much cheese. Nonetheless, it made for a satisfying lunch. The penne pasta was also very tasty. This is a solid, reliable restaurant for decent food.

Ate here twice - first time we had one of the house specialities: Belgian chicken with homemade meatballs, and chips to die for! Second time round we couldn't decide so Ronald (the host) very kindly cooked us a selection of dishes - tapas style, but not the dodgy faux-tapas you get in so many places - this was a mixture of Dominican and possibly Belgian mini-dishes including fried bananas, sauteed pork in spicy sauce, stuffed eggs, salads, and many other things I can't remember now (oh, and more of the legendary chips). Beautiful fresh food, perfect setting, unbeatable value, and Ronald and his wife are both very welcoming, likeable hosts - it felt just like going round to your friends' place for dinner.

Restaurant Il Pirata Italian cuisine in a Caribbean surround
I was sooo happy to finally find a good place to eat in Las Galeras since my most experience in eating out was poor!!! Señora Manuela makes her own pasta and bread and everything is nice and fresh.... I was so delighted cause it's definitely authentic Italian food but at the same time sad cause it was my last night!! I highly recommend eating dinner there!!

So the food here is great and inexpensive and worth the trip, especially the breakfast burritos. BTW-They don't advertise it on the menu, but they do serve alcohol here--great mojitos!
That said, what you come here for is to hang our with Diane. She is a witty, sarcastic, wildly entertaining host. We stopped here twice for lunch, and the first time, she remembered my name from my last visit OVER TWO YEARS ago!
While you are there, challenge Diane to a battle of "bests and worsts"--best living British actress, worst modern author, most overrated pop star, anything! She is simply a joy to talk to and will make you feel comfortable and welcome.

We had a fantastic family lunch at Chez Denise. At first, the place doesn't really impress you, neither the service or location, but the food is really delicious and high quality. We had some fresh fish and shrimp risotto that was absolutely fantastic. The pizza for the kids was also great and we finished the meal with great coffee. Totally recommended!

Surely one of the best restaurant views anywhere and certainly in the DR. Food superb: Had Fish Carpaccio, Lionfish with fried rice/veg, Creme Brulee, Espresso. Two drinks. US$50 good value for the quality. They have almost finished repairs following the hurricane and the restaurant and grounds look great. Until the new signage goes in the may help find it.
DIRECTIONS
Difficult to find, these directions may help. Do not trust either MAPS.ME or Google Maps to guide you, they are quite wrong. LEAVING Las Galeras centre on the main road. At c.KM6 there is a Cemetery on the left (look for the long green wall). Turn next left, just a bit further on. This is where there in a big sign saying ''Samana Ocean View Eco-Lodge". Also a very small white-on-green road-sign "LA GAUZAMA". Now take the 3rd right. Soon after there is a fork in the dirt road, go right. Follow right to the end. Ask if not sure, the locals know it well.
It's steep. SUV is fine, only a brave person would try in a saloon. I doubt it would work.

If the owners would just get rid of the horrible fluorescent lighting, this restaurant wouldn't give of the less elegant/more tacky ambiance that it exudes. That's too bad because the experience inside is just as nice as the other restaurants in town. The menu is pretty extensive though similar to the other local options. But, there were more than enough delicious options for all of us. We ordered pizza and seafood - oh and pasta.
The staff seemed to be quite overwhelmed and had some difficulties bringing us our orders. They were out of some things though they didn't tell us until about 20 minutes after we'd ordered them. We were pretty hungry so we were a bit annoyed but they were incredibly apologetic. This was impressive since many of the Dominican businesses that I've been to haven't really embraced customer service. So, even though the staff certainly didn't hit it out of the park in terms of pulling off our meal without issue, the fact that they recognized that was (sadly) impressive.
