Great Service, Great Views!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lake Nakuru Lodge. The staff were truly exceptional, always attentive, friendly and welcoming. Another great benefit of this lodge is the set of amazing views from the patios and rooms. Beautiful sweeping vistas of African scenery really added to the appeal of this lodge. In addition, we really enjoyed the food. The rooms were a little bit worn, such as an enigmatic shower that sputtered water rather than a directional shower. But while the facilities were not quite perfect, the staff and views made up for these minor shortcomings. In short, we heartily recommend the total experience that we enjoyed at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Mbweha Camp

Tucked away in the spectacular Great Rift Valley on the private 6400 acre Congreve Conservancy bordering Lake Nakuru National Park. Mbweha Camp is nestled up against the southern border of Lake Nakuru National Park with beautiful views over the Eburru and Mau ranges. Congreve Conservancy is part of the greater conservancy area called Soysambu which has a large part of Elementaita within its borders. Rustic lava-stone cottages with thatched roofs are surrounded by euphorbia candelabra, yellow barked acacia and other indigenous trees. Mbweha Camp is only a few hours from Nairobi, yet feels right away from it all with its relaxed atmosphere. Being situated outside a National Park allows many activities, including walking, mountain biking and night game drives. Guests can also enjoy day trips into Nakuru National Park with the option of a gourmet bush lunch with spectacular views of the Lake and the National Park.

The experience here is just unexpectedly excellent. It's so quite I love that, the staff Martin and Faith on the front desk, Saul the game driver, Zadock who we found in charge and David the chef who made us rethink of going home are all super friendly. The camp is kids friendly baby pool and bicycle rides, the rooms are clean well kept very spacious and comfortable, night game drives, sundowner, sound of jackals at night and early mornings siting of Buffalo dropping which tell you they passed by .. All these things they tell you you'll experience are just underrated, because they outdo themselves. I would highly recommend this camp, and I will be revisiting.

An authentic stay in Kenya

Reviewed By 537tessa

This is such a beautiful place to stay to really get a feel for the spirit of Kenya. The set up of it is all for a super good cause of providing training and work for orphaned children when they grow up, and it also extends to training courses in hospitality for the wider community. Not to mention that the location and view are so serene. Would definitely recommend staying here!

For a one night stop this was perfect - very near the Nakuru National Park gate and very good value. Dinner was good and cooked to order, but breakfast not so good. Room very pleasant with fridge, hairdryer etc. Free wi-fi throughout.

Hotel Waterbuck

Great Food, Friendly Staff, We Had A Good Stay

Reviewed By pamestinkriti

We stayed at Hotel Waterbuck for ten days in room 502P as we were visiting our family in Kenya. We were very happy with the food, the service, and the convenience of having the Naivas supermarket just a few meters away. The Naivas supermarket is located at the Westside shopping mall which means there are other businesses like cafes, shops, and banks. Now because I am a blogger, I must give the pros and cons. Food was good The staff is friendly and attentive. The managers are very involved in what is going on at the hotel, and they do come and talk to the guests, which we found to be very pleasant and reassuring. The room was cleaned every day, and the price was not too bad Cons I think the rooms could use some makeover, like have more power sockets so you can use your devices, like computers and phones. I think this could be helpful especially for people who are doing business and need to be on multiple devices at the same time, I think especially near the bed there should be a couple of sockets. The bathroom could use an antislip mat (we actually bought one because we were afraid of falling) Also, the wifi is available but it did go off a few times while we were there. When we were checking out, we felt as if our request was not communicated to the receptionist. We had spoken to the manager and asked if it was OK if we stay a bit longer in the room as our flight was in the evening so we wanted to have some lunch at the hotel before leaving. The manager told us it was OK, but then the receptionist was giving us a hard time when we proceeded to the room to grab our suitcases from our lunch. So I think The receptionist was not informed about our conversation with the manager, because to be honest, she was not very nice, she was complaining to us about how we had made the housekeeping team late. Well apart from that our stay was good, and we would go back to Waterbuck, we might be there next year actually.
