La Paz Hotels | Places to Stay in La Paz

As Baja California Sur’s capital, La Paz is mostly used as a jumping-off point for Cabo San Lucas’ beach resorts. However, its old-world charm and pleasant waterfront promenade featuring international art and restaurants overlooking the grey whale–inhabited water are reasons worth sticking around.

Fantastic hotel in La Paz. Would recommend it to anyone

We absolutely loved this hotel. First, its beautifully designed with an open courtyard on the first floor where you can have breakfast everyday and enjoy a drink at the bar. The rooftop is amazing - you have a view of the entire city as well as a pool, bar and great lounge chairs. Breakfast (which is included) was delicious every morning, the coffee is strong, and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The AC works like a charm (sometimes this can be hit or miss). The staff also got us an amazing boat tour the day of. To top it all off, they offer free underground parking if you have a rental car. I really don't have a single complaint - you can't beat this hotel, particularly for the affordable price.

Fabulous stay - beautiful, relaxing, luxurious

My friend and I from Canada stayed for a week in March and were upgraded to the top floor with the jacuzzi balcony tub. I highly recommend everything about this resort from the fabulous rooms to the amazing breakfast and lovely staff. If you want a quiet clean safe place with local charm, stay here! We rented a car and drove all around to beaches, the museum, and to see whale sharks, dolphins and grey whales. Wow! Dolphins also seen from our balcony and lots of birds for naturalists to observe. The pool is spacious and quiet.

Nice hotel, right on the water

Very nice hotel, clean and elegant. Rooms had fridge and coffee maker and fine beds. Bathroom was excellent with a large shower stall and an offering of shampoo etc and good towels. The included breakfast was outstanding with a very large selection of food items. The view over the water is excellent. Easy drive to town, yet outside and quiet. Staff spoke basic English, but if you know a few words of Spanish, use them - it is always appreciated.

Very relaxing place with private beach access

Reviewed By MAVE-ATX

We were referred to Casa Kootenay by local La Paz friends and they were absolutely right - this is a fabulous B&B. Leeanne is a great host - warm, friendly and great local guide who is professional and never imposes herself. The B&B has so much to offer - great location, privacy, secure, direct beach access, comfortable rooms (and bed!) and delicious breakfasts! Her staff are lovely and we always felt safe - very much a home from home. We loved wandering the beach outside before sunsets and saw these little crazy jawfish in the beach (see attachment). And speaking of sunsets - the rooftop veranda is the pièce de résistance of the place - for the most peaceful sunrise coffees and sunset cocktails! If you're looking for a comfortable place to stay with excellent access to downtown La Paz and the Malacon plus delightful host and delicious food - we highly recommend Casa Kootenay!

At City Express La Paz, experience our beautiful beachfront location and enjoy the proximity that our hotel has to dozens of major businesses. You can get the best of both worlds during your stay. Relaxing & Beautiful!

Reviewed By Expedition821155

I loved everything about Hotel El Moro: it's stylish and newly-renovated with old-world charm; fountains and beautiful tiling; comfortable, safe and clean. The waterfront view and sunsets from our balcony were worth the price of admission! The salt-water pool was refreshing and often empty. I liked that we could walk along the Malecón (promenade) to downtown in less than 15 minutes. We rented bikes and rode to lovely nearby beaches Coromuel and Caimancito a few miles away. Vrentino Restaurant and bakery next door was the bonus prize. Breakfast, lunch & dinner were delicious with many veggie options. I'll be back!
