A special event to end an outing for hubby's 95 year young mother is a strawberry sunday at Knoxville DQ. Not only does she love it, but she loves the fact that it doesnt melt all over while she slowly enjoys. Will definitely enjoy another visit next trip.

The Rib Shack

Ate there twice over the weekend. BBQ Nachos the first time - they were good, homemade potato chips with shredded Brisket, nacho cheese, bbq sauce, I'm not a big fan of nacho cheese, so I won't order it again. The next time we ate there I had the Southern Style Pulled Pork - very good, the slaw on top was good, but not great. A better slaw mix would take this meal over the top. But the meal was still very good.

The pork was excellent and homemade chips were very good. Great to have a Mt Dew there. :)

Peace Tree Brewing Company

Peace Tree Brewing Company is a packaging brewery and taproom with a focus on brewing full-flavored, hand-crafted beers. We currently bottle and keg our beers for distribution across Iowa, as well as Nebraska. Our taproom is a cozy, 60 occupant space where we serve pints and samples of our own beer and root beer. It's a family friendly venue! While we do not serve meals, some light snack options are available. Customers are encouraged to order food in from one of our local restaurants - just ask for a menu from behind the bar! Occasionally, food vendors are brought in to serve the public, as well. We host live music several times per month, so check our calendar for events!

Great variety of beers to choose. We did a flight so we could taste a few new ones. The area may be small, but fits a lot of people comfortably. The staff was very helpful, laid back and on top of everything.

They have a selection of snacks, we tried the chili cheese curds, spicy after burn to the lips, great flavor!

Very clean establishment!

After reading the good comments about this place I decided to try it. The place was half full and so that was a good sign. I ordered a starter and a main dish and service was fast, way to fast. But maybe that is because as Europeans we are not in an eternal rush. Main course was brought to the table before I had eaten the first half of my starter and the check (with fortune cookie) was brought to the table while I was still eating my main dish. Why the hurry? But the food was great and most likely that is the way people go out to eat in Knoxville Iowa.

I'm not sure if the last time I have had their Pizza was October or not but I know I'm over due on buying a Pizza from them. I will be thinking about their Pizza all day. This is my Home Town Favorite Pizza place. I only wish they deliver. Their sauce is the best! The owners are wonderful people. I give them two thumbs up and applaud them for opening Fast Freddy's Pizza and sharing their talent with their customers. If you like your sauce sweet and saucy, they have it going on.

Business associate and I went to Manny's for lunch. I ordered a breakfast entrée and he chose a burger. Everything about the experience was acceptable, with good food. Location is a re-purposed Hardee's location, that is a bit off the beaten path, has adequate parking and seating, but some of the facility seems a bit dated. Wait staff was adequate, but not as attentive as some places we frequent, which might have been the off-peak time we were there.

After having tea at Rib Shack we came across this place. There were lots of people outside eating ice creams, sundaes etc so we stopped here. We both got 2 double hot fudge ice creams, the hot fudge wasn't very nice, we are from Australia so it tastes very different. But the ice cream on the hand was great! Creamy, thick and Moreish making you want more. Aussies Nick & Em
