A great stopover with a big bed!

Reviewed By Matilda B

Had a brilliant time here as part of a little mini-break. Parking was great, the wifi was good and the room was really well done. Our doggo really liked cooling down on the tiled floor and we loved the big superking sized bed! Only criticism would be the sound-proofing, we could faintly hear our neighbours’ talking in the evening. That being said, we’d definitely come back!

Ignorant member of staff

Reviewed By Diane G

Myself and my friend went for a couple of drinks yesterday, and all the staff apart from 1 individual were very very pleasant. We decided to order some food, and then go outside as it was lovely and sunny. We told the owner and no problem. The waitress bought our food out and spoke to us like we were children mucking her about by going outside. I went in because I was furious and spoke to owner who agreed it was his fault by not telling her, and it's her 'way'. We shall not be in a rush to come back which is a shame.

Poor welcome

Reviewed By libra37

First impression was good, plenty of parking near by, The owner greeted us on arrival but didn't seem very enthusiastic, her husband didn't speak to us, we were given the key to our room which was clean and tidy, tea/coffee etc, we never saw the owners again til next morning at breakfast but they didn't acknowledge us with a good morning . Breakfast is OK just wish they had been free range eggs.....The coffee was very good though.... Only down side is the fact that they are not that welcoming or maybe it was us they just didn't like, I wouldn't stay again as we prefer our usual B&B but we were given this place as a recommendation as our usual place was full for the dates we needed ... Its close to the centre through the very nice park

Lovely place

Reviewed By Valjo153

My husband and I stayed for one night at the start of a cycling tour of North Norfolk. We were in a basement room which was fine, though probably not as light or large as an upper room would have been. Having said that , it was quite adequate for one night. On the afternoon we arrived we took our hot drinks out into the garden which was lovely as the weather was good. Location is excellent, close to the train station, town centre and start of the cycle path. Breakfast was superb- such delicious food, especially the bacon and tomatoes. Our host was lovely, so friendly and helpful and the dining room is beautifully decorated with artwork of various types- very tasteful. We would definitely recommend The Old Rectory and would happily stay there again if back that way.
