Reviewed By cafe-aadmiWe were initially dubious about our choice of going to a rainforest just before monsoon (end May). As soon as we stepped into Our Jungle House, our minds were put to rest. We rented the Happy Nest Treehouse, which was perfect for a group of 4 adults to hang out together. The interiors are gorgeous. The rains started, and the good thing about the early monsoon is that it usually rains only in the late afternoon/night, but mornings are usually overcast. It is perfect weather for a hike to Khao Sok national forest (the walk to see the Rafflesia flower is steep, but rewarding). After a day of rain the river rose and filled up with clean water, which was perfect for a morning of tubing. The food at Our Jungle House was superlative, much better than even higher-end restaurants that we visited subsequently. The staff is ever-smiling, polite and efficient. Highly recommended.

Reviewed By rachaelaa2022The trip to the lake was fantastic and our guide Ot made sure we got to hear and see everything the lake has to offer (frogs, birds, monkeys and more). Of course the accommodation on the lake was very basic but the staff and the food was top class. Although a bit of repair work on the walkways would not be a bad idea as a few of the wooden slats were rotting or broken. We really appreciated being able to take out canoes on our own to explore the lake ourselves. The second evening we were in the double story tree house - incredible!! The monkeys on the terrace was just the best surprise- we made sure we kept all doors shut so they couldn’t get inside and cause havoc!!! Our family ( with 3 teenagers) can highly recommend Our Jungle camp to anyone who is prepared to overlook a few bugs or two ( Moskitos were only an issue outside but in the treehouse it was well prepared and we didn’t get bitten ). The kids (13, 16 & 19) would have loved an extra night here!

Reviewed By RichieReeI frikkin loved my stay at the Riverside Cottages. The owner is an ecologist and Bodie. He has this deep authentic connection to his environment, and goes to all lengths necessary to create it for his guests - and yet he's still the most chill guy in Thailand. The food is incredible, made from a combination of food from the garden, and fresh-made curry paste from a village down the way. The accommodation is really comfortable but not bougie. The staff are lovely (I got the sense a lot of them are family) and the guests are all SO happy. Bodie gave us so much help putting us in touch with his contacts an organising for us on be well cared for on next leg of out trip. Invaluable. Because of my experience at Bodhi's resort, I will leave this land with a genuine connection to, and love of the spirit of Thailand - the place, the people, the culture.

The scenery is spectacular from the aqua-green water to the towering cliffs emerging at the side of the lake. It's very basic, which maybe is not a surprise for this location. The rooms are tiny, our bags barely fit around the bed, have a combined showerroom/bathroom (like you might find on a boat) and have a small deck overlooking the lake. The rooms are very close together and you'll hear your neighbors watching TV. The food is great, truly authentic thai as that was the clientele. This was one of the few places that didn't have a western breakfast (just scrambled eggs and cereal). The service was the main thing that was lacking. The staff barely spoke enough English to get buy and were often watching video on their phones with the volume on! Upon arrival their was a candle in the bathroom to keep bugs out. This wasn't replaced so on night 2 it was filled with bugs. Next time I'd stay for only 1 night.

Reviewed By DayTrip28628480595Completely loved my stay at Rock and Treehouse Resort. I was most excited about staying here, I loved the fact that it looked like a huge…treehouse. The stilt rooms, huge rocks, massive old trees and nature surrounding made it such a lovely place to stay. Monkeys trying to steal your things, the sounds of insects every second of the day and night. Just perfect. We arrived from the train station about an hour away and staff were immediately attentive, friendly and helpful on arrival. They took our bags to our room whilst we checked in etc. Gave me some time to have a little look around, it was so peacefully quiet, just the sound of insects. I liked our room. It was clean, cosy and simple. The pool at the resort was ok, cleaned daily and nice to relax in. Nice hot shower, fridge, kettle and various hot drink options. Breakfast was included everyday at the resort, a buffet style thing with the typical eggs, toast, sausages etc. Note there are not many options for vegans, only option was potatoes, fruit and toast. Plus drinks and stuff. So if you’re vegan it would be hard. Would recommend maybe bringing some of your own stuff, there is a fridge in rooms so can store it there. And I’m sure they’d be happy to cook up whatever you give them to cook. Wasn’t so keen on all the bees and wasps that attack you as you’re eating your breakfast lol, so if you’re not keen on them I’d avoid breakfast. We went on a lovely kayak ride down the river with a tour guide at the resort. He was so lovely and gave us some souvenirs. It was an amazing experience. Overall I loved my experience here, I would certainly return.

Reviewed By bard_treiWe loved our stay at Montania. We spent two nights in the Chalet room, which was small but very comfortable. The area is beautiful, and the hotel is basically right in the jungle and has incredible views from the room and pool. There are plenty of restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk down the road from the hotel. The staff are also great. Son (the manager/owner) helped us organize an overnight lake trip (which I highly recommend - Khao Sok is beautiful and staying the night on the lake was a lot of fun) and let us store our bags at the hotel while we were there. The breakfast was tasty, and we also organized transfers to and from Khao Sok through the hotel, which were quick and affordable. Highly recommend to anyone interested in getting out into nature while in Thailand!

Reviewed By Venture22888177184The Khao sok river resort is amazing. The rooms are small but really conformable with an amazing view and really clean. The staff is super nice and helpful for all your needs, they take really good care of their guests. Highly recommended ! Hope to come back one day
