Reviewed By 824rictWe had a great 2 night stay here to see the town, the famous Bridge and as a base to head up to see HellFire pass. The staff were amazing (great English and very accommodating), the room spotlessly clean and well appointed (with fast reliable wifi). The bed was very comfortable. The location is 2.6km from the main bus depot and 1.3km to the Bridge. This was quite walkable, given the humidity was much lower than Bangkok. Highly recommended...

There were 6 of us and we had booked 3 rooms.My husband (Thai) got upset, because she was very unfriendly almost hostile by Thai standards. But we decided to give the place a chance. The next day they were a bit better, but cannot compare to the other small family run guesthouse nearby where we stayed last time. After the day out we wanted to use the pool. Apparently the relatives of the owner were using the pool.The boys were very rowdy and noisy, and were catcalling one of our daughters,who was just walking by the poolside, which was rude. The rooms and the poolbeds were a bit dated. We could see this place has seen better days.We had poolside rooms. Rooms were a bit small and stuffy.but at least clean.Some sheets had stains,The Hot water in our bathroom was not working . ( the other rooms ok) Pros: It has a pool, which is nice after a long day out and great for a morning dip. We liked it that the rooms were right by the pool. Room had a small fridge which was practical for us. A decent breakfast at a very reasonable price. Nice cheap restaurant featuring both Western and Thai dishes. A beautiful view at the river. Nice outside area where you can relax.Good location and good parking space. It was a pity, as the initial unwelcome " welcome" sorta spoiled the experience, had the staff been more welcoming ,friendly and better trained in this area, it would have been nice. It was good value for the price.

Reviewed By ameliar842I stayed in one of the first rooms you see at the resort so a bit of a walk from there to the restaurant but pleasant. overall the room was nice but after showering the entire bathroom would smell of sewage and around the back of the rooms outside also smelt. very confusingly quirky and if it weren't for the smell of sewage and the unnecessarily long walks between buildings it would be nice

Great mid sized property in fantastic location
Reviewed By barrile_skjThis was a walk in booking and therefore I secured a fairly reasonable rate. This is a stunning property that has been beautifully designed and laid out with fantastic attention to detail. As with Covid times, all you could do was walk around and admire it all, as nothing was open and operating (except for the pool). I didn’t use this but it was a lovely infinity pool overlooking the river. This property is also in a great location in town and right on the river. I did struggle with communication. No staff spoke any speck of English and didn’t understand my translator, so the boss lady had to be called to intervene each time. The room was spacious and the bathroom was large with a great shower, however the lighting was a bit grim and the only bedroom window that offered privacy faced a brick wall. Another odd thing was there were no amenities in the bathroom and housekeeping replenished your water, tea, coffee & towels only. I was a little surprised they didn’t make the bed, but no big deal. Cable TV was useless but other than all that I believe this properly would have been busy and super popular pre Covid times!

A really lovely hotel on the river
Reviewed By lorip692We came with two families of 5 and booked 4 rooms for 2 nights. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms immaculate. We enjoyed the pool and kayaking in the river (free from the hotel) and dining in the hotel restaurant. We sampled lots of different kinds of food. Staff was responsive anytime we needed anything.

Friendly and welcoming owners, clean spacious rooms
Reviewed By Joanna WVery welcoming service. As soon as we arrived they served us a drink. The rooms are very nice, clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Hot water, air conditioning, refrigerator all work well. Rooms have a safe for valuables, storage area for bags, hangers for clothes, and TV. Simple breakfast added extra eggs for 10 baht per egg, as we have hungry teenage boys.. During the day free instant coffee/tea, water etc are available. It's in a very convenient location,yet at the same in a quiet Soi, has sufficient parking space as well. The owner is very nice and helpful. It's a lovely family-run business and they truly care about their customers. They know the area very well and the mother made a wonderful recommendation to visit Barme. They are the same owners of Siam Guesthouse where we stayed last time. Highly recommended if you want a nice clean inexpensive place. Will come back for sure, if we go to Kanchaburi again.

De locatie is op zich ok, eigen vervoer is handig maar met 20 minuten lopen sta je op de bridge over the river kwai. Voor ons was dit prima. De ontvangst was onvriendelijk, de receptioniste sprak geen woord engels. Zelfs het woord breakfast begreep ze niet. Tussendoor kwamen er een stel Thai met een vraag, ze liep gewoon weg. De kamer was netjes, bed was schoon, de badkamer niet echt. Veel kalkvlekken. Snachts overlast van vakantie vierende Thai die met hun minivans met muziek tot laat doorgaan. Het ontbijt is typisch Thais, gore worstjes met een ei, toast met koekjes plus koffie en thee. Voor het zwembad hoef je niet te gaan, dat heeft het formaat van een fors aquarium. Circa 3x6 meter.
