Reviewed By PSt0rmWe stayed in places 4 times as expensive as Baan Maka around Kaeng Krachan and none of them half as good. The staff really understand what you came here to see. Nature and animals. They cater to that. The food is good and simple Thai food. The rooms are clean and sensible with AC and good bathrooms. Everything you need, comfy beds, clean sheets, and lots of outlets. But the location is the best. Total wild forest and only 15 minutes drive from the national park. Unlike every other hotel we stayed at around here, this one is DEAD QUIET at night. No roosters, no barking dogs, no thumping Thai techno music. Total peace. They have all kinds of nature spotting tours available and arrange everything for you. They speak English, and have an amazing comprehensive guide book written by them to explain all the nature spotting options. There are night walks and kayaking on site. We woke up at 5:30am for a private trip the very top top of a peak in Kaeng Krachan national park. It is unbelievable. Our guide found dozens of gibbons, langurs, hornbills and even a sun bear! IN THE WILD. Tips for the trip: If you also take it, wear long pants and take a hoodie. It is FREEZING. Also, bugs. Take sandwiches. Limited food up top and by the time you get there, you have been up for hours and will be starving. Take water too. Take a hat. Take a long lens for your camera. Don't miss out on all the animal ops. Don't hesitate to book this place if you want nature at its best.

One to the most beautiful design resort along the Phetchaburi river in Kaeng Krachan. There are many type of accommodation to choose from. The resort is located within the natural atmosphere & environment where you can enjoy both river and mountain view. The Vasio is a chic & chill restaurant, there are variety of international food & drink to choose from. BBQ along the river is also available. The karaoke facility is a plus. The restaurant is also located near the river. There are two meeting room capacity up to 80 persons with meeting facilities. Resort's recreation are bike and kayak providing with free of charge within the premise. Free WIFI, free use of swimming pool, fitness center.

Reviewed By tom mThis place was a little difficult to find initially but easy once you know how. Close enough to the dam area but own car definitely required. The grounds are huge and there are lakes and garden areas throughout. There are at least 2 swimming pools and a snooker table...it sounded like there were guests partying until after 2am but far enough from our room not to be a nuisance. Breakfast was included and ok. Bicycles free to use. Think this would be great for a group or large family as there is loads of space and it's all pretty and laid back.

Most unpleasant hotel experience
Reviewed By BJJGUMost unpleasant hotel experience I ever had: Pricing is far beyond acceptable for what they offer. Room, service and food quality do not reflect the prices they are charging. Very unprofessional, overburdened and rude management. Owner and staff does not speak English and communication is almost impossible. - By the way and only as a side note: They charge 300 THB deposit for the one and only room key they hand out. We traveled quite a lot but I never ever had to pay a deposit for a room key. The worst thing is that it seems there is no interest to find satisfactory solutions to issues caused by the hotel. What happened: We had two separate bookings for two separate dates in the same week. 1. Problem with booking number one: When we arrived for the first night they said they can’t find our booking and that we would have actually no room booked. We showed them the print out of our confirmed and paid booking and did let them take copies of everything. They continued to claim that we did not have a booking with them and that we should solve the problem with the booking platform. They said: “This is your problem and we are not responsible”. After 45 minutes they found our booking and blamed the booking platform for not communicating it properly to them. So how could they find the booking if they did not even call the booking platform but found it under my last name in there system? The top management, who was there all the time and originally said it was not his problem, did never excuse himself when he found out that our booking was documented in their systems. Although I repeatedly asked the top manager to give me his name, he refused to do so and made us feel stupid and uncomfortable all time. 2. problem with booking number two: We arrived at the hotel after our excursion with one night sleepover somewhere else and it turned out, that the room we booked and paid, for some unexplained reason, was not available anymore. Actually we booked exactly the same room we had at the first night. They did try to downgrade us and tried to sell the downgrade as an upgrade. What they offered us is a room with only one king size bed putting a unacceptable and extremely uncomfortable emergency mattress (foam approximately 3cm high) for a third person in the same room. We booked a family room in purpose because we needed a family room. And of course, everything they offered for the same price... When we saw the room we decided that this was not where we wanted to stay overnight and asked for a full refund of our payment. We did not ask for any compensation of the inconvenience this hotel caused to us. We just requested a refund, as the offer they made, did not meet what we have booked. It was as simple as that. We were denied the refund, left alone with nobody talking to us and no intention to return the payment. The only thing they said was „not our problem, call the booking platform“. How is not offering the room we paid for and downgrading us to a room with not sufficient and appropriate beds to sleep in for 3 persons not their problem? We left the hotel without staying the second night and trust that the booking platform, which was informed immediately, will refund the 2nd night room rate asap.

Reviewed By CanadiatravelgoddessGreat view of the lake, lovely pool , delicious food, cute rooms in boathouse form. However the bathrooms are not handicapped friendly and hard to navigate. This is a great place to stay if you are birding Kaeng Krachan NP. Would definitely stay again the yard is great for birding both by day and night!
