Driftwood beach lodge is a recently renovated, 9 roomed lodge. Situated in Jambiani on the South East coast of Zanzibar. Our rooms all have bathrooms en suite, Zanzibari beds with mosquito nets and fans. We have a few air-con rooms now and are continuing with installations. In addition 2 new Garden/Sea-view bungalows have recently been built. Our open plan dining area and Pub and new swimming pool are close to the beach. Breakfast is included in our rate and Lunches and Dinners can be chosen from our restaurant menu. We have a TV lounge available and we have free Wifi. Jambiani is a favourite kite surfing destination, however local boat rides, fishing, diving and bicycle tours are available locally. On site managers provide a casual, comfortable, friendly environment for you to enjoy your Zanzibar holiday.

Reviewed By paullG5993RZMy taxi driver took me here among a few other places close by. There were a couple of cheaper places but I’m so glad I returned here for 3 nights, I was actually sad to leave. Very lovely management team and friendly staff who helped make my stay. Lots of comfy seating, a lovely pool, a deck and a picture perfect restaurant. Food good overall, I wish I had time to try more things. Could just about stream videos in my room which was a major bonus. Room really was cute, more than I needed. I’d say with food and drink I spent about £100 a day, no regrets, was a lovely stay. Thanks guys

Reviewed By S8308PMjennyeWe spent 6 nights here and it was a pleasure. The hotel is small, quiet and beautiful. It’s located right at the beach with a great pool and sunbathing area. We had breakfast and a couple of lunches here and the food is good but there are other restaurants as well on the beach. The staff is very friendly and serviceminded and we didn’t miss a thing except for shampoo and conditioner which we bought in a supermarket located 15 min away from the hotel. Really loved this place!

A total waste of time energy and effort.........
Reviewed By Ashley TOn arrival at the venue absolutely no help from the staff who showed no signs of interest in welcoming us to the property. We then proceeded to the reception desk which was two up turned delivery pallets .On arrival at the room we discovered the bed linen was dirty there was a offensive odour and the air condition was faulty. The sink in the bathroom leaked and was not properly secured to the wall plus a lack of toiletries. Breakfast the following morning was poor inadequate and served by staff that were indifferent and unconcerned. In summary we had booked for 28 nights, stayed 1 night and moved directly after breakfast to a superior hotel a short distance away for the same cost . The staff at the hotel to which we relocated were very professional, helpful and most welcoming this continued throughout or stay. To conclude our advice is simply DONT BOTHER WITH BLUE EARTH BINGALOWS.

We offer a charming beach side tiki bar and a stunning yoga shala and spa area to host wellness retreats. The villa is eco-friendly as we combine our power with solar electricity and re-use grey water to water villa garden. We offer a spacious and airy verandah facing our charming garden and the Indian Ocean for leisure activities and taking meals. Room service and watch men service is conducted daily. In total we have 7 spacious rooms with ensuite bathrooms, 3 of which are suites (accommodating 3-4) and 4 double rooms around an airy courtyard. Each room can be booked separately or the entire villa can be booked. Laundry service available. The villa is close to many local beach restaurants, bars, the post office and village shops.

Wonderful Time
Reviewed By 748reeeeOur short stay at Bara Bara House was absolutly wonderful! The house itself is more like a home and we could also enjoy the shared kitchen, a living room, a washing maschine and the relaxed garden. The rooms are extremely clean, nicely decorated and very comfy. We felt very much at home! It is very close to the beach (2 min) and there are good restaurants in walking distance. Walking through the village is never a problem and even as women at night we didn't feel uncomfortable walking home. The breakfast was the most delicious breakfast we had so far - your host will prepare for you omlette, a smoothie, many delicious fruits... A dream come true! We wish we could've stayed longer!

Reviewed By Steeve17We went to the restaurant PiliPili. In a nutshell? A total rip-off. Avoid. Don't even think about it! Why? The food is distasteful and it's insanely expensive. Let's be more precise. The ice cream didn't taste at all like an ice cream. I must admit that it is the worst ice cream I ever had. The wine was undrinkable. I must say, once again, that is the worst glass of wine I ever had. I took a South African dish: I was really hungry but I didn't manage to finish my plate. It was the first time I tried South African food. I must say that if South African food does taste like that I don't want to eat it ever after, even in South Africa! The waiter wasn't friendly. His English wasn't good enough for a waiter who only deals with tourists. And last but not least, we ended up paying 100 USD, which is three times more than the usual fare in Zanzibar! In other words, avoid this place, it's a total ripe-off.

Reviewed By pariswithloveNamed after its excellent host, Mina, this good value hotel is right on the beach. I had a nice sea view room with a private balcony. It’s a great place for solo travelers, couples as well as families since the have apartments too. Yummy food too! Mina, Stephan and the team really make guests feel at home… I only wish I could have stayed longer! I’ll be back!

Miles away from the beach. Fotos on web all lies, none existend. I will persue them to get my money back!!!!!*
