We stayed for a week at the Sheraton Buganvilias, partially for work, mostly for family fun! Our kids went to bed exhausted every night from swimming, playing on the beach, more swimming, and fantastic food and drinks, we loved every minute! Our breakfast waiter, Juanito-Marcos took exceptional care of us each morning, we intentionally would request him each morning because he goes above and beyond, be sure you sit with Juan for breakfast or lunch and he’ll take fantastic care of you! We’ll for sure be back for this work event annually and plan to make more vacations out of it as well. When we arrived we’d had our room upgraded to an ocean front suite, the space was comfortable and clean and well stocked for our family. The showers were a hit for our kids, spacious and overhead rain shower, fantastic. Our rooms were tended to each day, we were given fresh towels and soap and our beds made. The staff around the resort were wonderful and helpful. We know a bit of Spanish, enough to get by well, but almost everyone here speaks English as well to some degree, which was helpful for longer conversations. Overall we had an incredible week here, and cannot wait to plan our next trip back!

Basically traveled to stay at a construction site

Reviewed By ellafairon

I was overall pretty disappointed with our stay at hotel Mousai. I came in with very high expectations, I checked their reviews on every platform so for the price I was expecting a five star resort & experience. The check in process was fast and easy everyone was relatively friendly our Butler Eduarto showed us to our room he was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our stay took a sharp turn for the worst when the first full day of our stay construction in the room right next to us began at 9 AM and went till 5 PM. I am talking about chainsaws and hammering literally every minute between that time period. I decided to not make it a big deal the first day and we spent our entire day on the rooftop pool which was awesome. However, the next two days it was raining so we wanted to spend some relaxing time on our balcony in our Jacuzzi which was quite literally impossible with a jackhammer and chainsaw going off in the room next to us so I decided to get in contact with the hotel supervisor Orlando. He was extremely rude and unhelpful… He also lied to me about what was to be done about our bill. What really bothered me was that he acted like I was inconveniencing them… I paid 700+ dollars a night for premium service and the ultra room. I had to bargain and beg for something to be done until he finally said that he would erase the balance that we had which wasn’t even a lot was under $200 and he pointed out that he would have the Wagu removed from her Roshi that we had which may be equaled out to $20. After not really getting anywhere… I basically just had to agree to this not sufficing accommodation. Not to mention it was my birthday. I felt like after that everyone at the front desk was pretty rude to us. Treating us like we were crazy. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the men at the rooftop were amazing and very helpful and attentive the drinks were great on the rooftop all of the stuff on the rooftop deserves a five star review they were truly amazing. But overall that alone wasn’t enough to make our stay feel worth it. When you travel you travel for relaxation and peace of mind if I wanted to stay on a construction site I would’ve just went to LA. So for anyone reading this review just know that when you book with hotel Messiah there’s a 50-50 chance that you are going to be in a room right next to construction and that management will do literally nothing about it. I would definitely not pay extra for any type of premium service it is absolutely not worth it.

Not What Expected

Reviewed By Inyaki2013

Overall not pleased with our experience and will not stay here again. Traveled from May 12 - May 19, 2022. We were with a group of 23, including children, adults, and one elderly adult. We arrived at and I was not happy. The customer service was just OK. We arrived at about 9 AM and were told our rooms were not available and check in was at about 3 PM. They also told us we were not able to utilize any of the amenities of the hotel until noon unless we paid $25 per person. Although most of our experiences were not favorable, we had several staff that did go out of their way and help us to have a good experience and they need to be acknowledged. We were surprised that they had a strict mask policy and definitely would not stayed if we knew ahead of time. It was so ridiculous because they literally closed the swim up pool bar for any service to patrons in the pool. I was even told I had to exit the pool and order on the other side and not in from tof the pool. then when I tried to order I was told I needed a mask. I told them are you kidding me I just got out of the pool for a drink. The next day we were told that the mask policy was removed. We upgraded to the Fiesta Club room that includes "Premium" liquors and beverages. What a joke because it was practically the same drinks. I asked for several brands and told that was not included and I would have to pay for a bottle that they never had. Yanni and Ignacio at the adult pool second level were awesome! The adult pool was nice but I believe the upgraded Bali beds and cabanas were pricey. The rooms were very small and for four people it was very crowded. We had to ask for extra bath towels ALL the time because they kept giving us only 3 and we were a family of 4. When we first arrived to our room it was still dirty and they did not provide any amenities or the bar service was not even stocked. We made reservations just as they asked us to for every dinner and EVERY TIME we had to sit separate. What was the point of making the reservations...???? Our first night we dined at the Italian restaurant. Everyone except myself an dry wife received our plates. We waited over 2 1/2 hours and I asked the waiter only to find out they forgot our order. They made it so fast that when they brought it my steak could run if it had legs thats how it was not even cooked. I left without eating my food and attempted to grab something at the buffet, but was disappointed that everything had curry and I was just not in the mood for that! We were told by Naomi that the hotel was going to be having a Mexican show and later informed that it was cancelled because they gave ALL the seats to a convention of Chiropractors. We quickly realized that the hotel caters only to the convention attendees. We observed a convection of Veternarians arrive late run the week and they had several special shows ready for them that were not provided for us. WTF! This made me upset because we had not traveled to Puerto Vallarta in 20 years. Last time we were members of another resort almost next door and they used to have nightly entertainment and shows. I thought it was a change but I spoke to one of the staff members from the other resort at the local store and they told us that they still have nightly shows all the time. I could not believe that the resort did not have entertainment for everyone. Yes they had a band every other night playing but what happened to the shows and entertainment for the families including the children ??? Very disappointed Fiesta Americana. They had three restaurants and you had to make reservations or you ate at the buffet or room service if buffet wa snot open. And seriously there was one of the three a la carte restaurants closed daily. The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner was just OK and thats it. We were used to large buffets in Cancun, but was not happening here. I am so glad we did not participate in the timeshare presentation because this hotel was not worth it at all an dI would never become a member here. The staff, beverages, and food at the cafe was terrible. The popsicles tasted like cough medicine. Could not believe there were no available crepes or ice cream service at this hotel. For the first time ever we got diarrhea. Some worse or less than others and we could not figure out why. We believe it might have been the ceviche because ethyl do not serve it pool side on ice like other hotels. either that or because they did not provide bottled water outside of the room. They poured it from a pitcher. Hmmmmm. We purchased the medical $4 per room insurance only to be told that my nephew was not covered because when they called for a doctor they did not mention they had the insurance and they called a doctor that was not part of that program. WTF. My niece complained nd they said they were going to reimburse her but not sure. The following the staff did go out of their way to assist us and our children and provided excellent service: 1. Yovanni the Captitan 2. Jessica, Yanni, and Ignacio were awesome for our pool service 3. Luis and Giovanni did a great job at the beach service 4. Yovanni at the Mexican restaurant The following individuals I recommend require training: 1. Rosario- she was very rude when we arrived 10 minutes late for our dinner reservations and told us there was nothing she could do and had much attitude 2. Alma-Italian Restaurant 3. Yair-not helpful at all 4. Naomi-never followed up with us regarding the timeshare presentation and seemed to avoid us at all costs. I asked Naomi for special dinner reservations at a restaurant for our anniversary and she NEVER got back to me!!!! However she did provide rose pedals in the room and a small gift during dinner which was nice. PROS: 1. Some staff are great 2. Nice palapas 3. 8th floor cocktail/ light snacks service was nice except did not have the liquors I wanted 4. Ceviche was good but think it made us sick 5. Available lounge chairs CONS: 1. Some staff did to make it favorable 2. Ocean water was dirty and told it was the time of year. Not sure why if there was no rain 3. Rooms were not cleaned 4. Fiesta Club not worth it 5. No Premium liquor or beverages as stated. Had to pay for upgrades 6. Had to make dinner reservations 7. Masks required for first 2 days 8. Food quality and selections were terrible 9. No available bottled water except in room 10. Buffet was terrible and selections were very limited for breakfast, lunch and dinner 11. No Entertainment or nightly shows 12. Boring hotel and did not see activities for kids 13. Spa services were expensive 14. Had to ask every day for appropriate amount of bath towels 15. They stopped providing snacks in the room after day one and told they did not receive shipment. Then refund me money paid for expected service I do not recommend this hotel and we will never stay here again. That strike 2 for Fiesta American for us.

We stayed here for the first time in June 2022 and it was also our first trip to PV. Pros: -very friendly and helpful staff. -very close to the airport. -good food and drinks. -good AC system that actually cooled the room well. -programmable safe in room to store valuables. -strong wifi throughout the property. -no timeshare people or offers. This I liked a lot. -pool was clean with swim up bar. Possibly heated pool. -ocean and beach area are nice with the water temperature being warm. -scheduling the covid test and whole process was easy. Cons: -older property and rooms but overall clean and well maintained. -housekeeping did an ok job. Sometimes you could tell they did not sweep, sometimes forgot to put water bottles, body lotion, etc. There was a time where the coffee mug wasn't replaced with a clean one. -no night-time entertainment. Summary: Shout out to Patricia at the swim-up bar who was great and made our time at the pool much better. Thanks again Patricia! Also shout out to Ramon, the Gray Lines tour vendor who was very friendly and helped us out. I did not use the spa or the laundry service so I cannot comment on that. There were also tennis courts and bikes available to use. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

You can hear the road noise and the chickens and roosters on the street crowing at the crack of dawn. There is no beach access from The Hacienda.
